Blue Ohmbre Posted April 1, 2015 at 03:23 PM Report Share Posted April 1, 2015 at 03:23 PM Hi everyone! So I've been looking to buy an EV for some time and decided a Tesla was too rich for my blood and so I went with my second choice...a beautiful new Deep Impact Blue Ford Fusion Energi Titanium with everything but a heated steering wheel. So far I love everything about it. I'm looking forward to digging in here and learning everything this car can do. I'm really impressed with the ergonomic comfort and ride quality. I rented a Ford Fusion Titanium Ecoboost from Enterprise back in February and took it on a long trip to see if I liked the ride. It was wonderful. There is nothing like being absolutely sure you made the right choice when spending this kind of money on a car. This was a big purchase for me and I'm thrilled to have my Fusion Energi. Glad to be here, too! This afternoon, I'm heading off on my first long road trip since I purchased my Fusion, but I'll be checking in here to see how I can best use the EV settings and such. I will probably be using a bit of gas on this trip, but that's why bought it...I travel quite a bit and there's no way I have time to charge during the day and get to my next stop. So glad I'm already averaging 50 MPG! I went from driving an 18 year old full size van getting 15 MPG. I'm loving this Fusion Energi and I've only had it one week! lonzo71, jeff_h and Hybridbear
lonzo71 Posted April 1, 2015 at 04:08 PM Report Share Posted April 1, 2015 at 04:08 PM grats! There are some downsides, but the ups outweigh them for sure! I would still look into getting a level 2 station as long as you can get tax breaks for it by local/state/federal. Blue Ohmbre
Eric4539 Posted April 2, 2015 at 02:59 AM Report Share Posted April 2, 2015 at 02:59 AM Congratulations! If your dealer has not helped you apply for your rebate, be sure to check this website for the California Clean Vehicle Rebate and about the Federal Tax Credit you may qualify for when you file your taxes next year. http://driveclean.ca.gov/pev/Costs/Vehicles.php I also recommend searching for your city/county for additional rebates. Have fun passing gas stations that you would have visited in your old full size van! Blue Ohmbre and Hybridbear
Blue Ohmbre Posted April 2, 2015 at 05:47 AM Author Report Share Posted April 2, 2015 at 05:47 AM (edited) Oh thanks guys! I'm checked into my hotel and just reading this now. Yes I will be getting a level 2 charger soon. I already have my green carpool lane stickers from the dealer. I know about the tax stuff and California rebates. Thanks for the link!
