openair Posted March 21, 2015 at 07:07 PM Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 at 07:07 PM (edited) Sitting at a public charging station after a few errands. I logged into MFM from the mobile app to check status of charge. Each time MFM updates the parking brake light comes on and there is two or three clicks from the rear. This is noise is likely either the parking brake re engaging or the connection to the HVB connecting and disconnecting again.Anyone else notice this? My understanding is the MFM updates should only draw from the 12v and the HVB should remain disconnected. If it is the parking brake re engaging, possibly a source of some ppls dead 12v's?Edit: seems to only occur while plugged in. Likely not related to dead 12v's than. Hybridbear Posted March 21, 2015 at 10:02 PM Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 at 10:02 PM The parking brake light comes on when the car wakes up. The door lock lights were also probably turning on at the same time. The clicks could be the DCDC converter sending charge to the 12V battery. When our car is at home and fully charged the charging station usually shows that no power is going to the car. However, if we wake the car up with the MyFord Mobile app, the charging station will engage because the car I s drawing current from it. I think this is making sure the HVB is full and to make sure the 12V is sufficiently charged.
