Rhynri Posted March 11, 2015 at 04:46 PM Report Share Posted March 11, 2015 at 04:46 PM Anyone else having a problem keeping the stereo in "Surround" mode in the Sound Settings? Mine variably switches itself back to Stereo, and I have no idea why. I can turn the car off, open the door (so the stereo shuts off), unplug my phone, come back, plug it back in, hit start.. and one day it'll stay in surround, the next it'll turn itself back to stereo. Even if I make sure to plug the phone back in before I turn the car on and I haven't used the phone since the car shut off. It's very curious. Rhynri Posted March 11, 2015 at 06:07 PM Author Report Share Posted March 11, 2015 at 06:07 PM Ah, fun times. I'll just live with it for now then. Looks like some developer working for Ford needs an education on last state saving. Thanks for the link. Hybridbear
Russael Posted May 13, 2015 at 12:27 PM Report Share Posted May 13, 2015 at 12:27 PM Got a surprise after getting all of the computers upgraded. The surround sound setting now stays. It appears to not be a sync software issue, but it is something with the firmware itself. Not sure exactly WHICH module upgrade fixed that though. Not sure exactly WHICH module upgrade fixed that though.I haven't driven the car enough since we got it back from the dealer last week but I think ours may be working now too. I had the APIM updated per TSB 14-0175 to fix the ambient lighting issue. The APIM is the Sync Module which also controls the radio so it's possible that updating the APIM fixed this. shaggy314 Posted May 13, 2015 at 03:33 PM Report Share Posted May 13, 2015 at 03:33 PM I was supposed to have had that update done, but haven't notice yet if it is fixed on mine. I found it on stereo last time I looked. I was thinking it might be source related. I switch between my radio, a dedicated USB 32 GB flash drive with music, and an iPhone with podcasts and music. Somewhere in all that I'll pick up on it switching back to stereo and I set it back to surround, but we'll see.
