Hybridbear Posted February 15, 2015 at 05:53 PM Report Share Posted February 15, 2015 at 05:53 PM I know that a lot of Energi owners also visit the FFH Forum, but I wanted to post a link to this info here since it's likely of interest to those who don't also visit the FFH Forum. On our recent road trip I was able to learn a lot more about how the Energi works. I was able to better understand the eCVT operation, how Ford makes our ICE follow the Atkinson cycle and the impact of elevation & fuel octane on ICE behavior. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/9689-road-trip-observations-with-torque-pro/ Doug0716 and larryh
Doug0716 Posted February 16, 2015 at 12:03 AM Report Share Posted February 16, 2015 at 12:03 AM Great post with lots of technical details. The little nugget of gold for me was way at the bottom: Regen spinning circle appears when using ACC, but not when using Grade Assist. Regen spinning circle means brake lights are on. Both produce the same amount of regen to slow the car. I had been wondering about that myself, but too lazy to actually research it. I'm curious about using each mode (Auto, EV Now, EV Later) based on circumstances (Hwy/City, high/low traffic, ect). I'm sure one day I'll get around to looking it up, but if anybody happens to have that info bookmarked that'd be cool too ;) bwheetley and Hybridbear
