I live in the country and drive it on dirt roads (yes probably one of the few). But the headlights are straight dangerous. I was wondering what you guys thought on the 55W hide. Is that going to take much more power from the battery than the 35w? Id like to get distance but if that amount of power is trivial id probably going with more light. I don't really care about blinding people as most people around here drive with light bars or baja off road lights.Also I saw on the other posts everyone had them installed. The halogens in the car are actually 55W, but HIDs produce up to 3x the lumen output at 4500k with less energy. 55W HIDs tend to be so bright that it almost appears as high beams even with projector headlamps. Plus 55W HIDs have reduced bulb life. The bulbs are the same - the ballasts simply deliver more energy to them, burning them out quicker. I'm trying to hold out for a really good LED headlight. So far, some are out there, but most of them say they're not intended for headlight use, but are suitable for fog lights. I'll be ordering 2 35W H11 kits, but I heard that some people needed the error eliminators. On the ddm site there are a Bow3 listed and a capacitor. Do we need both? The headlight switch in the car GOES to a high powered relay to drive the normal headlights, so why does a second relay need to be installed? That's another big reason I haven't invested in better headlights. I've looked at DDM and Morimoto ones (leaning toward Morimoto if I did get a set). I've read that the second gen fusion will give headlight/bulb out warnings. Not sure about the 2013. You could just try unplugging one, turning on your headlights and seeing if the car gives you an error. I wired it like the guide on the hybrid forum and it's great because you can run fogs with the high beams but sucks cause the fogs are always on with the headlights. Wish I replaced the drl with LEDs as they are more yellow than the hids now and stand out. Did you guys convert to led? What ones did you get. I live in the country (drive out where there are no lights on windy roads a lot) and honestly miss the lightbar on my truck. They are brighter than stock for sure. They look a lot better as well. I was gonna check on re aiming hem. They are much brighter but just like the stock light aim at the ground so 30 feet out there is nothing. I installed a Morimoto kit a couple weeks ago and have radio interference since then. TRS suggested I add RFI cores to get rid of the interference. Tried that and it helped but it's still there. Now they suggest I try relocating the ballasts. The ting is, the engine compartment is so freakin' tight, I don't know where else to put them. expresspotato Posted May 9, 2015 at 03:43 AM Report Share Posted May 9, 2015 at 03:43 AM Yes from my experience with the FFH you do need a relay harness and for better results a HID capacitor.Because the DRL's run at reduced voltage and the car turns off the bulb when the turn signls are going, you'll get your HID clicking on and off which isn't good for them.Driver's side bulb connection -> HID Capacitor -> Relay harnes -> L Ballast -> R BallastGoing to do my FFE sometime next week once my LED parking lights come in.
