lonzo71 Posted January 7, 2015 at 06:23 PM Report Share Posted January 7, 2015 at 06:23 PM (edited) yes, it is, but a BAH since I already have a charging station...maybe if its a plug in...and my current one goes bad.... Heres a report from Cnet http://www.cnet.com/products/chargepoint-home/ Edited January 7, 2015 at 06:29 PM by lonzo71
jeff_h Posted January 7, 2015 at 11:47 PM Report Share Posted January 7, 2015 at 11:47 PM I'd be interested in how much they will charge to support the link to the charger to allow the remote access etc. A year ago when I talked with the Chargepoint sales rep about maybe getting one installed at work (I was doing the research for my company's management), after the installation the cost was going to be either $240 or $250 per year for Chargepoint to handle the access and billing. This is not that bad since if the charger is open to the public and is not free, that includes them billing the users and sending the funds back to you - don't know if there were other recurring charges beyond that but the sales rep didn't mention any. So with a home station, I doubt that the access and billing portion would be there, but the remote access and management from their servers should be, and if so I wonder if that is thrown in with the cost of purchase or if there is a recurring cost. HotLap Posted January 16, 2015 at 10:40 PM Report Share Posted January 16, 2015 at 10:40 PM Wow, this is a smart charger and so simple and elegant looking...not to mention the decidedly smaller footprint than on my Clipper Creek unit, (which I must admit was a disappointment when it arrived at how large the unit was). That's the exact same set up I have with my Clipper Creek the 240V outlet below and to the side of the charger and a plug in charger. I'm keeping my eye on this one...anyone interested in a slightly used Clipper Creek 30AMP charger :)
