garymkrieg Posted January 4, 2015 at 06:40 PM Report Share Posted January 4, 2015 at 06:40 PM I have a 2015 Energi and the Trip Summary display, when the car is turned off, does not show number of gallons used. I thought I remembered seeing the gallons used displayed when people post screen shots of their Trip Summaries. Gary
jeff_h Posted January 4, 2015 at 07:33 PM Report Share Posted January 4, 2015 at 07:33 PM On the 2013 there is a menu option to set the display to 'basic' or 'enhanced' (or similar terms) - don't know if the 2015 also has that, but maybe sampling with the left side menu settings should uncover it? garymkrieg Posted January 4, 2015 at 09:42 PM Author Report Share Posted January 4, 2015 at 09:42 PM Thanks Jeff, I did a search in my manual (PDF), for the words enhanced and basic and found nothing pertaining to the Trip Summary. jeff_h Posted January 4, 2015 at 10:01 PM Report Share Posted January 4, 2015 at 10:01 PM OK maybe it's a difference between the 2013 and 2015... I think the below is the page from the 2013 manual about those menu settings.

Hybridbear Posted January 8, 2015 at 07:42 PM Report Share Posted January 8, 2015 at 07:42 PM Here you go: Thanks. This is a trip that's all EV though...what happens if you make a trip using gas & EV? Then does it show the gallons used? Perhaps it only hides the gallons used when you make an EV only trip. I don't have any pics of the trip summary in our Energi to know what we show. Below is an old pic of the trip summary from my parents' C-Max Energi. It shows 0.0 gallons when driving all EV. flyingcheesehead Posted January 9, 2015 at 01:00 AM Report Share Posted January 9, 2015 at 01:00 AM My 2015 never shows gallons either, and I thought that was one of the coolest things I saw when I test drove the 2014. :(
garymkrieg Posted January 9, 2015 at 02:27 PM Author Report Share Posted January 9, 2015 at 02:27 PM Hybridbear, even with a trip that uses gas, the display is the same. Gary

HotLap Posted January 19, 2015 at 08:06 PM Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 at 08:06 PM You guys owe me BIG TIME!! I just went and drove down the block and back 2/10's of a mile in EV Mode) to verify the Trip Summary readings and my 2014 does indeed list the "Gals used 0.00" even when no gas is used! So there! garymkrieg Posted January 19, 2015 at 11:50 PM Author Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 at 11:50 PM (edited) Hotlap, yea we managed to bring that game back from the dead. In my mind that game was the intersection of patience and practice. On the 2015 there is no gas information provided, oh well. EnergiCCAATS Posted January 22, 2015 at 05:14 PM Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 at 05:14 PM Yep, I can confirm on my 2015 that the display does NOT show gallons used. My wife's 2014 does. I could find no way to change in settings to allow this to show gallons used. Kindof strange they would take that away.

Ford was already way behind GM for info display and it seems it's getting worse.
Hybridbear Posted January 26, 2015 at 07:25 PM Report Share Posted January 26, 2015 at 07:25 PM Ford was already way behind GM for info display and it seems it's getting worse. What do you mean? The Volt doesn't show MPGe does it? One of the reasons we didn't get a Volt was because of the lack of EV displays compared to the 2013 Fusion Energi. The 2014 & 2015 Fusion are way worse!! Can anyone summarize what display functionality has been removed from '14 and '15 models? The only ones that I am aware of are: 1) 2013: MPGe; 2014-15: MPG only2) 2013-14: kWh AND Gals. used at end of trip; 2015: Only kWh used at end of trip Are there any other functions missing? I wonder if these functions could be "re-enabled" if enough petitioning was done by us owners?

garymkrieg Posted January 31, 2015 at 10:21 PM Author Report Share Posted January 31, 2015 at 10:21 PM I'm going to piggyback off my initial question. Here is a picture of my Trip 1 display as of today: I'm pretty sure that EV number should be 1423.2 since I'm still on my initial tank of gas. Is the thousand digit truncated on everybody's Trip 1? I also assume the kWh should be 1296 not 296. Gary
murphy Posted January 31, 2015 at 11:26 PM Report Share Posted January 31, 2015 at 11:26 PM The following has a lot of assumptions such as a full gas tank at the start. 1710.7 miles / 155.6 mpg = 10.99 gallons14 gallons per tank - 10.99 gallons used = 3.01 gallons left3.01 / 14 = 0.22 * 100 = 22 % left which matches your gas gaugeAssuming your mpg is really about 40 mpg, 40 * 10.99 gal = 439.6 miles from gasoline1710.7 miles - 439.6 miles = 1271.1 miles due to electricityThe car gets about 21 miles for about a 5.6 kWh charge of electricity (ignoring charging losses)1271.1 miles / 21 miles = 60.53 charges60.53 charges * 5.6 kWh per charge = 338.9 kWhThat is very close to the 296 kWh in your displayIt is impossible for me to do an accurate calculation because the charge per mile varies all over the place based on the temperature of the battery and the amount of lead in your right foot. The 296 kWh number is reasonable.I calculated the EV distance to be 1271 miles so you are correct that the EV number has dropped the thousands digit. garymkrieg Posted February 1, 2015 at 04:08 PM Author Report Share Posted February 1, 2015 at 04:08 PM Wow, thanks for the analysis. I wonder why they dropped the thousands digit. I plan on using Trip 2 as my lifetime summary so I'm probably going to have to run through a quick calculation, like the one you did, to actually know what my EV miles are in a year or two from now.
