HotLap Posted December 12, 2014 at 07:04 PM Report Share Posted December 12, 2014 at 07:04 PM Yesterday I stopped by the LFD to check out tne new Mustang. Very sharp and <FINALLY> Ford upgraded that cheap, hard plastic interior. I had a 2005 GT, 2007 California Special, 2007 Shelby GT500 and they all had that hard plastic interior. The new Mustang is nicer throughout the interior and the exterior looks fantastic. The GT was too quiet though, sounds tame compared with the 2014 GT...just priced out a loaded GT vert on the Ford site and $46,600...I remember in the late 90's you could buy a loaded GT vert for $27K.... Anyway has anyone driven the new Mustang yet? I hear with the new indi rear and overall suspension improvements that's the most significant difference between the previous gen, refined handling... robertlane Posted December 12, 2014 at 10:27 PM Report Share Posted December 12, 2014 at 10:27 PM I've been seeing a lot of them here in Dearborn and I'm liking the 2016 Shelby GT350. You're right about the upgraded interior, but they also upgraded the chassis and suspension too.
HotLap Posted December 12, 2014 at 10:46 PM Author Report Share Posted December 12, 2014 at 10:46 PM Robert agree with you that GT350 looks nice! Bet the dealers are going to have a heyday marking those up! I remember when the GT500 first came out in 2007, it was ridiculous what some dealers wanted over MSRP. Sweet ride though for sure! Post pics when you get yours :)

His username is Steve_B_TX or something like that. You could check with him. HotLap

Platinum15Ti Posted February 21, 2015 at 08:53 PM Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 at 08:53 PM I love the 2015's! I've driven each of the engine options and the 5.0 and EB are great, but I'd get a 5.0 if I bought one. I had a 5.0 convertible with the 50th package for a month in December and I didn't have any complaints.
Rexracer Posted February 23, 2015 at 04:26 PM Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 at 04:26 PM I did the "Do a test drive get $50 thing" so when I went in I asked for a Mustang. Ended up in a loaded 5.0 with manual transmission. Was blown away how much improved the interior was (what kept me from buying the previous gen one). Car was fantastic, but unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs, so didn't get to have to much fun. Very nice car, once kids are at least in forward facing car seats may look for a used one and sell my C4 Corvette track car.
Platinum15Ti Posted February 23, 2015 at 04:49 PM Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 at 04:49 PM (edited) I agree, the interior is much improved. I had a manual trans car for a week, then an auto for a month. If I bought one, I'd buy a manual, but the autos in the last few years have come a long way in terms of power they can hold and in sport mode it actually shifted decently firm as well.
