cegarbage Posted December 12, 2014 at 02:20 AM Report Share Posted December 12, 2014 at 02:20 AM I noticed somewhere recently it states the myford app is free for 5 years. Has the app been around long enough for people to be charged? I'm curious what they are charging. I believe people can charge what they want and I can choose whether to buy. in this case, it's useful, but I wouldn't pay for it. Most people who buy these cars expect to achieve savings by owning it a long time. I wouldn't expect this app to work forever and be free forever, but I'm surprised they hint at charging customers after only 5 years. jdbob Posted December 12, 2014 at 02:48 AM Report Share Posted December 12, 2014 at 02:48 AM It's probably going to stop working before 5 years. MFM uses a 2G cell modem running on AT&T but AT&T is planning on shutting down 2G service in the whole country by the end of 2016, some areas earlier if they need the frequencies for LTE.
