cegarbage Posted December 4, 2014 at 03:42 AM Report Share Posted December 4, 2014 at 03:42 AM The camera I look at when I go in reverse appears a little off centered. I had my windows tinted, i think the guy may have nudged it slightly, it seems like i see part of the car when i'm in reverse now. Where exactly is the camera? Doug0716 Posted December 4, 2014 at 05:09 AM Report Share Posted December 4, 2014 at 05:09 AM (edited) It is right above the plate, below the ford logo. You should see the rear bumper. (In this example you can actually see part of the plate) I haven't looked super close as far as centered but it seems like it is to me based on the logo (my Kia it's a few inches off which makes it difficult to use for much of anything while moving). It also looks like it would be difficult to move, though there is a chance it wasn't seated correctly at the factory I suppose. Also worth noting is the car can't turn as sharp as the lines on the screen indicate (when reversing out of my driveway the lines show I'll stay on the pavement in the alley but as I back up the car will eventually go into the grass on the opposite side) Edited December 4, 2014 at 05:11 AM by Doug0716
cegarbage Posted December 5, 2014 at 04:48 AM Author Report Share Posted December 5, 2014 at 04:48 AM Thanks, I do not recall seeing the bumper before. I guess I never looked. I am unsure yet if i trust the lines that are angling me in reverse. Glad it's just not me. But I do find it extremely helpful and never anticipated using it. This car is much bigger than my old. Doug0716 Posted December 8, 2014 at 03:46 AM Report Share Posted December 8, 2014 at 03:46 AM So while taking a road trip this weekend I looked at the camera while the trunk was up and on the 2015 it's slightly off center! The trunk release is on the other side, not sure where it would have been in the pic I looked up before. Maybe other years have it offset too? Ironically the lines would be off worse for my scenario if it was centered.
Kybuck Posted December 13, 2014 at 05:01 AM Report Share Posted December 13, 2014 at 05:01 AM It's off centered on the 2014 too. I don't think the pic above is the current gen Fusion, the license plate lights don't match.
HotLap Posted December 15, 2014 at 09:36 PM Report Share Posted December 15, 2014 at 09:36 PM IIRC, isn't there a "zoom" setting for the rearview camera? Check out the setting and it may be that you have it in zoom mode w/o realizing it?
