mikerphd Posted December 4, 2014 at 02:38 AM Report Share Posted December 4, 2014 at 02:38 AM (edited) I am a new owner and am getting used to all the features of the car. One thing I noticed today is that my phone app said I had 17 miles of battery power available, while the car's display indicated that I had 14 miles left (is the app including the "residual" power in the "hybrid battery" while the car is only reporting the kWh available for "EV only"?) ... insights from experienced owners would be appreciated. Thanks... Mike Edited December 4, 2014 at 02:39 AM by mikerphd

Thanks... MikeIf you have the climate control on the estimated range will be reduced. Turn the climate control off and the display should return to 17. The display is only an estimate. It may indicate 17 miles but if you drive 85 mph you may only get 10 miles on a charge. Conversely, if you drive at 45 mph you may get 25 miles on a charge. mikerphd and jeff_h

Climate control is the likely culprit though. mikerphd
