eviltuna Posted December 1, 2014 at 12:51 PM Report Share Posted December 1, 2014 at 12:51 PM So I'm up to 13,000KM with my Fusion Energi and everything was going great until yesterday, the remote start stopped working and I noticed the check Engine light came on, car seems to be running fine, but pressing Lock and remote start 2x doesn't work anymore, the car responds but wont warm up. Anyone ran into this problem? It was Sunday so figured I would call the dealer today.
Hybridbear Posted December 1, 2014 at 03:39 PM Report Share Posted December 1, 2014 at 03:39 PM Run a Vehicle Health Report for more info. sccofer Posted December 3, 2014 at 04:09 PM Report Share Posted December 3, 2014 at 04:09 PM weird, same day exact same issue. I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow with my local dealer. Issues are the same as you stated though and started on the same day...
murphy Posted December 3, 2014 at 06:20 PM Report Share Posted December 3, 2014 at 06:20 PM My recollection is that remote start only works once or twice within the same hour. After that it is locked out for an hour.
sccofer Posted December 3, 2014 at 08:34 PM Report Share Posted December 3, 2014 at 08:34 PM In my case it doesn't work at all - probably related to the check engine light. Not very happy about the reliability at this point - first new car ever that had a check engine light come on this early....11K miles... Locutus Posted December 17, 2014 at 12:39 AM Report Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 12:39 AM I have the exact same problem and I only have 7500 miles. I just started getting the check engine light and the moment that started remote start no longer worked. I ran a vehicle health report and all its reporting and the recall notice for the APIM. Locutus Posted December 17, 2014 at 12:50 AM Report Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 12:50 AM Now this is funny. Now that I have run the health report and have acknowledged the APIM recall notice, remote start is now working. All of this so that I know my APIM warranty is extended to five years. Once I did that, the check engine light went out and remote start was working again. I did take it to the dealer. But he said there was nothing to do since the light went out. flyingcheesehead Posted December 31, 2014 at 12:53 AM Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 at 12:53 AM My FFET is doing this now. Check engine light with under 2,000 miles, YGBFSM!! And remote start doesn't work. The car just honks and my remote blinks red three times. I ran a vehicle health report and it tells me that... My check engine light is on. Wow, that was helpful! >:-( Anyone find a solution yet? Do I really need to visit the dealer already for a car that's a month old? :(
murphy Posted December 31, 2014 at 01:23 AM Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 at 01:23 AM Just in case. You can't do more than two remote starts within an hour unless you actually drive the car. After remote start times out twice it is locked out for an hour. I ran into that when I was testing my third IA key.

flyingcheesehead Posted January 8, 2015 at 04:19 AM Report Share Posted January 8, 2015 at 04:19 AM Well, my check engine light went off after a few days... And after a couple more days my remote start started working again. Weird... But I'm glad I don't have to go to the dealer yet.
