jdbob Posted September 20, 2014 at 03:51 AM Report Share Posted September 20, 2014 at 03:51 AM From the C-Max Hybrid forum, which was from the Fusion Hybrid forum: REASON FOR THIS EMISSION RECALLIn some of the affected vehicles, the On-board Diagnostic (OBD-II) system may be inhibited when Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P24BC is set by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). When DTC P24BC is set, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will not illuminate to alert the driver of a potential impact to vehicle emission control systems. Kybuck Posted September 21, 2014 at 03:22 AM Report Share Posted September 21, 2014 at 03:22 AM I ran a VHR yesterday morning and this didn't come up. My car was built August 12, 2013, so it looks like it falls within the scope. I'll have to try another VHR and see if it flags it now. Hybridbear Posted September 21, 2014 at 12:27 PM Report Share Posted September 21, 2014 at 12:27 PM Be aware that this update will reset your Lifetime Brake Score and Lifetime Regen Miles. For those of you using Torque Pro it will also reset the start events counter of how many times the ICE has turned on.

As long as it doesn't reset the MPG, that should be alright. Hybridbear

I had the 14E02 PCM update done this morning - lifetime brake and lifetime regen was reset, and EV+ wiped out, all as expected. Lifetime MPG was not affected. jeff_h Posted November 11, 2014 at 09:37 PM Report Share Posted November 11, 2014 at 09:37 PM Strange - ran a VHR after getting the above PCM reprogramming done, then ran a VHR later in the day and don't ever recall seeing items that were unable to be checked... they put the 14S21 (RCM) on the Repair Order to place one on order and that's it, have not had any issues with that at all, and hope I'm not about to! murphy Posted December 11, 2014 at 06:39 PM Report Share Posted December 11, 2014 at 06:39 PM I had this "fix" done this morning. I expected it would take 15 to 30 minutes. It took 4 hours. Here is the description of what was done. Recall 14E02Perform FSA 14E02 reprogram PCM and multiple powertrain relate modules and regen braking for hybrid. Half way through the service writer notified me that they were having trouble clearing all of the error codes. For the first time ever they washed my car. There has been a light snow falling all morning. :hysterical:

Are you able to run a VHR that checks all attributes and not get the "system unavailable" as in my screenshot above?

I had the "Restraints & Driver Assistance" System unavailable back in July. I took it in and they fixed it. jeff_h
jeff_h Posted December 13, 2014 at 07:41 PM Report Share Posted December 13, 2014 at 07:41 PM Hmmm - well that ones that had 'system unavailable' before are now OK, but now a different one showing unavailable. That was from a VHR a week ago, will run another one and see if maybe all are happy now.
MarciaM Posted March 25, 2015 at 07:02 PM Report Share Posted March 25, 2015 at 07:02 PM (edited) I took the car into the dealer to get the recall done. The software would not update and kept crashing. They now say the ABS module is failing, and they've ordered a new one (at cost of $4,000- but not to me). They cannot explain why the ABS module is failing, and why it has anything to do with the reprogramming of the PCM. Any ideas? (And they also told me I needed an oil change, since it's been 6,000 miles since the last and only oil change was done. The rep seemed surprised when I told him the car was also an electric vehicle, and there was no message yet that an oil change was due.) Run a vehicle health report and it will give you the oil life remaining percentage. This car can go 20K miles before an oil change is needed.
