Josh Benard Posted August 27, 2014 at 04:52 AM Report Share Posted August 27, 2014 at 04:52 AM I'm getting ready to order the 2015 Fusion Energi Titanium this weekend, and I am curious to see where current owners stand on a couple of different things. Color:I went to test drive and look at a couple of Energis a couple weeks ago, but haven't found any in the color scheme I am looking to buy (dealer didn't have material swatch samples for it either). I'm a little scared to order something without seeing it, so I was hoping to at least get a little feedback from the community. I was thinking about doing a Magnetic Exterior with the Brick Red Interior package. Does anyone know how vibrantly red those seats are? If they are a softer red, I am all for it- I just don't want something that yells at me every time I get in the car. If you do think the seats are too flashy, do you have a recommendation for a different exterior/interior color pairing? Rims:I thought I had read there was a new 18" rim option with the Appearance package on the '15, but I haven't found an images supporting that theory. Does anyone know anything about this? Driver Assistance Package:I definitely don't need park assist, but have those with this package found good benefit in having it? Moonroof:I haven't been able to check out a model with the Moonroof, but about how big is it comapred to the roof? Some cars these days advertise a "Moonroof", but you may hardly be able to stick a hand out of it. Not like older cars where you could easily fit two people through it Appreciate your input. Thanks! SteveEnergi Posted August 27, 2014 at 11:15 AM Report Share Posted August 27, 2014 at 11:15 AM I can only comment on one of your items. In order to have the garage door opening, you need the moonroof. I don't have a moonroof but have seen them. They are a "normal" size moonroof maybe 2 by 3 feet. Can not comment on the color, I went with the black interior and white car. Rims - The 18s are on the options list, note that it will cost you a little on the MPG(e)s. I do like the look of the 18s more than the 17s though... probably worth it. I have a fully loaded 13... I have never used the parking assist, but it does give you the front sensors when pulling into the garage... so that is nice. Lane keeping is not as nice as I thought it would be but I LOVE BLIS and ACC. The moonroof is nice and I like the homelink.

Lane keeping is not as nice as I thought it would be but I LOVE BLIS and ACC. To tack onto the above, my wife's Energi has active park assist which she never uses, but she loves that those front sensors work when pulling into the garage or into a parking spot, so for us that was worth the cost. ACC is one thing that I don't think I'll ever do without on another car, very handy. The lane keeping is on both of our cars but we never really make use of it, every once in a while I will get "coffee cupped" and she gets that popup several times per week, she says. tjtj Posted August 28, 2014 at 05:14 PM Report Share Posted August 28, 2014 at 05:14 PM Driver Assistance Package:I definitely don't need park assist, but have those with this package found good benefit in having it?I like lane keep assist; mostly because it gives me peace of mind. I don't think it's actually saved me from any collisions yet (in the 3 weeks I've had the car) :) Automatic lights and brights are nice. I think those are part of the package, but I can't exactly remember. As everyone on here will tell you, ACC is basically a must. I'm pretty sure I drive more than half my miles with it on. And I like park assist and use it sometimes because I live in the city, but it probably is a waste if you're not going to use it at least once a month. It's a nice thing to show off though :) For your other questions, the appearance and moonroof weren't very important to me (though the brick red leather looks nice in the photos!), but all the dealer inventory had moonroofs so I got one anyway. It feels about normal size or a little smaller. The left edge of it is just about in line with the right side of my head while driving. It retracts fully, at least, and also can tilt forward a bit for ventilation. Two skinny people could fit through it, but not easily. Dan's Energi Posted September 1, 2014 at 02:40 AM Report Share Posted September 1, 2014 at 02:40 AM I haven't seen the red in person. I spoke to a salesman in Orlando (?) who has a brick red interior. He said it's a deal breaker and they cannot sell the car because of it. Apparently it's used as their demo car and has around 800 miles on it now. Based on that I ruled out the red interior. The parking assist is fun but getting OEM front sensors are the main reason to buy IMHO. The '14 moonroof opening is 18-1/4". I wouldn't spend more to get OEM 18's. If you're spending money to look different then why buy OEM?
RAHTOL Posted September 15, 2014 at 03:11 PM Report Share Posted September 15, 2014 at 03:11 PM I factory ordered my 2014 FFE Titanium because the specific options that I wanted or did not want were not available at any dealer here on the east coast. No moonroof: since I prefer to enjoy the quietness of this car I usually drive with windows closed (and moonroof closed in my previous Camry Hybrid). Therefore no need for moonroof which almost all of the in-stock models had. Red Interior: I did not want a light leather interior since this will slowly "discolor" i.e. get dirty over time. A totally dark interior e.g. charcoal felt to dull. For me the red leather seats felt just right as a nice contrast to the sterling gray body color. They are not lipstick red but more towards burgundy - not too flashy. The headliner is a light more cream colored/off white color. People generally like the interior look of the car, especially since this combination is a little bit off the beaten path. Driver Assistance Package: The acc alone is worth the extra money. The other features are an added bonus - nice to have No Acitve Park Assist: I live in NYC and over the years I learned to squeeze into the tiniest parking spaces, i.e. the park assist would have been of no additional benefit to me. I just wish the front sensor would have been a stand-alone option which I would have liked to add.
Rexracer Posted September 16, 2014 at 05:43 PM Report Share Posted September 16, 2014 at 05:43 PM The 215 order guide does not show an 18" wheel option, just a new optional 17" H-spoke style, which in my opinion looks much much better.http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/2111-2015-fusion-energi-order-guide/ I would be very nervous about the red interior as well. I guess if you are the personality that would like it, then it could just be that extra flash you want. About all you can do is google image search to see how it looks at dealers in different light, the way the picture was taken can greatly change how the color is perceived. I personally would get the light gray interior if I had the option. The lighter colors do discolor, but they always clean up from my experience, its just a maintenance thing. The carpet is going to be black either way, so getting some more character in there is a good idea.
