HotLap Posted August 24, 2014 at 06:49 PM Report Share Posted August 24, 2014 at 06:49 PM Hello everyone, I just did a search and couldn't find anything about who gets these refund checks and who doesn't. I suspect this was the result of overstated EPA mileage figures and since I just bought my 2014 Energi, I'm assuming the EPA numbers have been adjusted on the window sticker...so no refund check for me? I do think it's the right thing to do for Ford and those of you who received checks be sure and let your friends know that Ford stepped up and did right by you!! howardbc
howardbc Posted August 24, 2014 at 08:06 PM Report Share Posted August 24, 2014 at 08:06 PM I agree, HotLap, that Ford is to be commended for mailing out the checks. It sure puts the behavior of GM to shame, although their new CEO sounds good. If the window-sticker on your 2014 FFE had 88mpge (electric and gas) and 38mpg (gas only), then I assume you won't get a check. Those are the corrected EPA numbers, although I've always done better than that with my 2013 FFE. Congratulations on buying a very advanced car. If it's your first hybrid, there will be a learning curve while you adjust to coasting/braking/driving with a lot more thought than with a standard ICE (internal combustion engine) car. Come back to this forum often. The members are terrific at answering and explaining things.
HotLap Posted August 26, 2014 at 03:02 PM Report Share Posted August 26, 2014 at 03:02 PM Thank you howardbc for the clarification. My window sticker does state 88/38 so I will not be getting a check from Ford. Great vehicle though, I'm really enjoying driving around town in electric only mode! In process of installing a level 2 charger in my garage so it should be even more convenient! So advanced, I've had numerous Ford's with the My Ford Touch over the past several years and just noticed the "Auto Zoom" feature for the map. That's pretty cool to have the zoom change based on the vehicle speed...in the past I would have to manually zoom in when approaching my destination, now it's automatic. Ford appears to have put a lot of thought into these cars, I also really like the Energi power distribution screen view (the pic of car and where power is flowing), really informative screen! The theme based EV screens of "Inform, Enlighten, Empower, Engage, and My View" are really well thought out and really assist you to manage/optimize the use of the battery/hybrid systems. Also the Precondition and Value Charge modes are awesome! My neighbor has a 2013 Volt and either doesn't have the value charge option (or doesn't know about it). He was waiting the other day to plug in later in the evening during off peak power time and forgot to plug in...came out to a dead battery the next morning. Anyway, thanks again, great car!! howardbc
shaggy314 Posted August 29, 2014 at 08:05 PM Report Share Posted August 29, 2014 at 08:05 PM (edited) Anyone buying after December 2013 can shut the heck up too... You guys got a $4000 lower MSRP. /pout Mine went to a mortgage payment. I'm already saving so much on gas, it's insane. I went from $130 a month driving a 33 MPG Acura to about $12 a month in this baby. Edited September 7, 2014 at 04:28 PM by shaggy314

jeffs47 Posted September 10, 2014 at 04:32 PM Report Share Posted September 10, 2014 at 04:32 PM I have a mystery package arriving today via 2-day FedEx today from "HOV Services" in Levonia, MI. I had no idea what it could be until I stumbled across this forum. Sounds like I might have an $850 check waiting for me? If so, BEST DAY EVER! Hero161 Posted September 11, 2014 at 01:12 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2014 at 01:12 PM FedEx delivered our 3th check yesterday. We recieved 2 checks earlier ($550 & $475) for our 2013 C-Max. We brought our new 2013 FFE SE Luxury in June this year and even though it had the old window sticker we were not sure we would get a check. Between Ford & dealer rebates, along with a $500 Farm Bureau Insurance discount the purchase price was over 12K off the 45K sticker price. We had to drive 350 miles to the St Louis area get the options we wanted at the price we were prepared to pay. We are on our 3th fillup and are happy campers! Thank you Ford.... jeff_h
