dnorris78 Posted June 30, 2014 at 03:34 PM Report Share Posted June 30, 2014 at 03:34 PM I recently took a very long road trip from the Carolina's to central Illinois and back. I noticed some interesting things about the mileage on my 2013 FFE. There doesn't seem to be a bit of different in instantaneous mileage readout at 55 mph, 65 mph or 75 mph. By tracking fill ups I get an average of 55 mpg on that road trip. Has anyone experienced this on a road trip?
meyersnole Posted June 30, 2014 at 10:14 PM Report Share Posted June 30, 2014 at 10:14 PM I have too much of a lead foot to get 55mpg on a trip, I tend to get anywhere between 46 and 40. Speed absolutely affects your mileage.
EnergiCCAATS Posted July 1, 2014 at 04:24 PM Report Share Posted July 1, 2014 at 04:24 PM You are both still getting well higher than Ford's now DERATED 38 MPG for hybrid mode. I still don't understand why they derated the Energi. 43 mpg was dead on for even the most aggressive drivers, and conservative for most of us now acclimated to driving a hybrid and being energi conscious. Russael Posted July 1, 2014 at 05:05 PM Report Share Posted July 1, 2014 at 05:05 PM It's probably due to the winter mileage. During the winter when it was especially cold, I had MPGe ratings in the 20's for my normally ~160MPGe commute (in late spring through early fall). Battery range estimates were about 12 with climate, 16 without. In some cases even with preconditioning, my ICE would kick on a mile after I left the house and would stay on until I got to the office. And then Oil Maintenance mode got me about 3 or 4 times during the cold season. Summer ratings for me are phenomenal, but the cold season is abysmal. :) Griff
