thomastl Posted June 5, 2014 at 08:09 PM Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 at 08:09 PM We have a 2014 Fusion Energi Titanium with backup camera and reverse sensing system. The volume of the warning beeps is very low to the point that you almost don't hear them if your not actually listening for them.I have searched around and cannot find any info about the possibility of increasing the warning volume.Anyone else notice how low the volume is or any idea on how to adjust the volume. Thanks,
Rexracer Posted June 5, 2014 at 09:18 PM Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 at 09:18 PM When I saw the title of this post I thought "oh yeah decreasing the volume of the beeps would be great". So either there is an adjustment and yours is set low, or you really want to hear those beeps. I'll look at my car on the way home to see if I can find anything. thomastl Posted June 5, 2014 at 10:15 PM Author Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 at 10:15 PM Ours is very low. My F150 is perfect. This one you would not hear unless you are really listening for it.
Rexracer Posted June 6, 2014 at 09:37 PM Report Share Posted June 6, 2014 at 09:37 PM Do you have an iphone? You can get a decible meter app for free. would be interesting to see what it registers. I will do mine tonight.
thomastl Posted June 7, 2014 at 12:51 PM Author Report Share Posted June 7, 2014 at 12:51 PM The Fusion is producing 62 db and coming from the rear speakers. The F-150 is producing 74 db and is coming from right under the steering wheel. Both measured at the driver seat holding db meter at center of steering wheel. That is a big difference. Rexracer
Rexracer Posted June 9, 2014 at 08:23 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2014 at 08:23 PM I now understand why you are complaining 62db is basically a "quite street". I checked my car, as high as 76 db, most of the sound coming from the front speakers. Time to go to a dealer if you ask me.

thomastl Posted June 16, 2014 at 03:11 PM Author Report Share Posted June 16, 2014 at 03:11 PM (edited) Went to dealership this weekend. Me and service manager checked another 2014 Energi and 2014 Gas Burner. Both have the exact same volume level and both are coming from the rear speakers only. No adjustment to volume level.Service manager was surprised as well Edited June 16, 2014 at 03:11 PM by thomastl
Rexracer Posted June 16, 2014 at 06:05 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2014 at 06:05 PM Well thats strange, mine is a 2013, not sure why they would change anything between the years. =\
Eric4539 Posted June 17, 2014 at 02:26 AM Report Share Posted June 17, 2014 at 02:26 AM I have a 2013 and as I pulled out of my garage today I tested my parking sensors. The front and rear alerts seem to be coming from my front speakers. I can definitely hear them coming from my left front speaker. I have Active Park Assist so I don't know if that makes a difference. To me the alerts are quite loud. Hybridbear
Rexracer Posted June 17, 2014 at 02:58 PM Report Share Posted June 17, 2014 at 02:58 PM Thats exactly what I hear as well Eric, but I don't have Active Park Assist. It seems weird they would change this from 2013 to the 2014s.
comike Posted June 17, 2014 at 09:24 PM Report Share Posted June 17, 2014 at 09:24 PM I didn't even realize that my 2014 had this feature until I actively listened for it. It's almost silent. Seems odd. It's totally ineffective at that volume level.
Fat Fusion Posted June 18, 2014 at 04:52 AM Report Share Posted June 18, 2014 at 04:52 AM Park assist here. Pretty loud.

Griff Posted June 22, 2014 at 09:00 AM Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 at 09:00 AM Sounds kind of odd. But, if you have a camera, is it that important? Also, if you have the radio on, the backup sensor interrupts it. Thereby, grabbing your attention. We have a 2014 Fusion Energi Titanium with backup camera and reverse sensing system. The volume of the warning beeps is very low to the point that you almost don't hear them if your not actually listening for them.I have searched around and cannot find any info about the possibility of increasing the warning volume.Anyone else notice how low the volume is or any idea on how to adjust the volume. Fat Fusion Posted June 27, 2014 at 12:48 AM Report Share Posted June 27, 2014 at 12:48 AM Fat Fusion is a 2014 also. Do you have a smart phone you can get a decibel app, i have Decibel 10th for Iphone. Would be interesting to get more actual measurements from people. I made a mistake. My front sensing is fairly loud. The rear sensing is barely audible.
Kybuck Posted June 27, 2014 at 03:55 AM Report Share Posted June 27, 2014 at 03:55 AM If I had to choose between "loud" and "quiet" for my 2014 reverse sensors, I'd have to pick "loud" - it isn't deafening, but by no means is it quiet. 2014 SE - rear view camera and reverse sensors. No front sensors.
Eric4539 Posted June 27, 2014 at 04:11 AM Report Share Posted June 27, 2014 at 04:11 AM I reverse into my garage, so the rear sensors go off first. I haven't paid attention to the left screen of my dash, but I swear the alerts (beeps) come from either the left or the right speaker depending on what side the obstacle is on (I could be totally wrong but the alert is loud, to me) and it is coming from the rear speakers in the doors. When I am very close to the obstacle the beeps stop and a solid alert goes off. Again, to me this solid alarm is loud and seems to be coming from the speaker on the rear shelf. The front alerts (beeps) are definitely coming from the speakers in the front doors and are quite loud. The dash says Front Left or Front Right but I can't tell if the beeps come from respective speakers depending if the obstacle is on the left or the right. The beeps could be coming from both. All I know is that there are a lot of beeps that sound like it is coming from left and right, front and rear, and the beeps are loud. Juice Posted July 2, 2014 at 04:05 AM Report Share Posted July 2, 2014 at 04:05 AM Same here with the 2013 E. It would be nice to be able to turn this up a couple decibels.
Synergi Posted August 16, 2014 at 09:46 PM Report Share Posted August 16, 2014 at 09:46 PM Mine sound OK. Have you checked the fade to ensure that there is balanced power to your speakers? Just a thought.
cindy Posted September 2, 2014 at 11:21 PM Report Share Posted September 2, 2014 at 11:21 PM Hi,I also have a 2014 energi titanium fusion. I called ford headquarters because my dealership could not help me with the very low backup sensors. Ford told me that the titanium is the top of the line fusion therefor it is insulated differently from other fusions so the car has far less cabin noise than other fusions. They state this is why we can not hear the backup sensors. Sounds crazy but I have no other choice than to believe it.
Shelly Posted November 10, 2023 at 11:54 PM Report Share Posted November 10, 2023 at 11:54 PM I just bought a used 2020 Fusion. When I first got it, the warning sound was perfect. Since then I’ve changed options here and there and now notice I can barely hear it. I’ll go back to my speaker settings and see is that’s the answer. Stay tuned……
