vett93 Posted May 26, 2014 at 05:22 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2014 at 05:22 PM I found a bug in SYNC's text message reply command. One of my contacts has two mobile phones. He used one of them to send me a text message and I used the voice command to reply. The problem is that SYNC sent my reply to the other mobile phone. Design and quality control are really questionable.....
bwheetley Posted May 27, 2014 at 05:51 PM Report Share Posted May 27, 2014 at 05:51 PM That's Microsoft for you... It's too bad that it's not just open source so the community could fix and develop.
vett93 Posted May 27, 2014 at 10:09 PM Author Report Share Posted May 27, 2014 at 10:09 PM I am not sure that Microsoft would develop the end products for Ford. Usually, they provide the core software packages and their customers (e.g., Ford) would finish the end products. In either case, Ford is responsible for delivering quality products to the customers. Kybuck Posted May 28, 2014 at 02:10 AM Report Share Posted May 28, 2014 at 02:10 AM I tried something similar, but it tried to send a text back to the person's landline instead of the cell phone they texted me from. That was the only (and last) time I tried that.
vett93 Posted May 28, 2014 at 08:06 PM Author Report Share Posted May 28, 2014 at 08:06 PM It will reply to the 1st phone number under that contact. Quality is job 1! Not!!
seadiel Posted May 28, 2014 at 09:10 PM Report Share Posted May 28, 2014 at 09:10 PM When I get a text message I have the option of listening, ignore & cancel. I am assuming my phone doesn't support replying via voice?
vett93 Posted May 29, 2014 at 04:18 AM Author Report Share Posted May 29, 2014 at 04:18 AM I think if you can listen to the message, you should be able to reply to the message as well. In the phone section, you can use "reply to text messages" voice command. Then follow the interactions.

I can just have it read the text - assuming that there are no emoticons...
meyersnole Posted May 30, 2014 at 10:03 PM Report Share Posted May 30, 2014 at 10:03 PM If Ford has a software development group they need some serious help, I think it is much more likely this was vended to a 3rd party. If you look up MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch in wikipedia you will see that Ford has been struggling with quality issues for some time. While the latest "fix" has met with some positive response it is still in need of many basic fixes that I would simply call sloppy programming. The kind of thing that you would expect from the lowest bidder. Ford does recognize this as a major weakness and seems to be devoting effort here. We know that the next generation will not be built on the Microsoft platform (not sure that we really the problem. I have never used that particular toolkit so just talking...) and I am just hoping that whatever is in store that their will be a plan for all the current 5 million customers with these systems. http://blog.gasbuddy.com/posts/Next-generation-MyFord-Touch-screen-to-be-more-intuitive/1715-569345-2373.aspx
