I have driven 9370 miles during the last year, and the car has been absolutely trouble free. There were a few things that needed to be fix such as the sagging trunk and a Sync module had to be replaced but nothing that affects the driveability of the car. I bought a L2 charger a couple of months ago and think it was a good decision, I have been able to come home with a almost empty battery, charge for 2 hours and leave with a full battery again. I'm very happy with the car so far. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that If I had waited for the 2014 model I would have had to pay less for the car I gotten a couple of extra option that I really like (cooled seats, airbag seatbealts). Also, I'm not tracking MPG but MPGe. I have been averaging about 1500 miles per gas tank which lasts about 2 months. The computer shows between 75 and 80 MPGe at the end of the 1500 miles. I will find out in my next fill up how much of a difference the L2 charger is making on my miles per tank, I still have about half a tank left to go and I filled up last time in late February or early March if I recall correctly. Since my last gas fill up I have driven 961 miles of which 752 have been EV (this includes miles driven in Pure EV plus miles driven in Hybrid mode) and have used 182kWh and 6.45 gallons for a total efiiciency of 81 MPGe. If the inefficiency of charging is considered the MPGe are a bit lower. There is some waste of energy powering the fans during charging to keep the temperature of the batteries low enough. Someone calculated this waste at 1.4 for L1 charging and 1.2 for L2 charging. The electric rate from FPL is about 12c per kWh, which means i have spent about $26.20 over the period in electricity and $21.79 (6.45*3.379) in gas to drive the 961 miles which means that the cost per mile is around $0.0499. I dont get nearly that large of a ratio of electric to gas, so I actually am getting gas about once a month. I guess i only look at the cost of gas (so MPG), since my charging electric rate is about $0.05 per KWH. So for you last tank of 961 miles with 6.45 gallons I would tell people I got 149mpg (with a small caveot) that I spent ~$10 in electricity also. I have been completely satisfied with it as it has been completely trouble free in the 3 months I have had it. It seems to be a very good product (I personally also own the bosch, but I have never heard any complaints about the clipper creek). jeff_h Posted May 16, 2014 at 06:10 PM Report Share Posted May 16, 2014 at 06:10 PM OK I'll try and steer this one back toward the subject of the thread -- my wife's Energi hit the one-year mark last month, and all has been well. No check-engine-lights (that happened on my car), no problems with Go-Times (also happened on my car), only very minor things as noted below. Miles for first year was 17,300. 1) I found an issue shortly after delivery with the piano trim near the driver side mirror sticking out about ½" at the top, and while most would not even notice it I kept snagging it with the wash mitt when washing the car. So I said OK when I have to take it in to the dealer for something else, I will have this addressed. 2) Same goes for the small fraying at front of headliner on passenger side right near A-pillar, which was also present on my Energi and on the 2013 FFH that I had before the Energi. As long as they could put a dab of glue on there to keep it from fraying more, fine with me. 3) Then 10 months into ownership, I noticed that the hooks on the front and right side of the driver's seat bottom were unhooked for unknown reason, so the seat bottom could be lifted up a bit and sat on the frame like a pancake. Everything with the seat adjustment still worked fine, so I added that onto the 'when I need to do to dealer for something real'. So the 'time to go to dealer for something real' was just before the one-year mark when it was time for state inspection. Got the piano trim glued, got the headliner fray glued, they ended up replacing the seat bottom, and got the inspection done and still no real problems. The only thing that really went wrong was the tire going bad and that was self-induced, as I posted on another thread. So she is very happy with the car, and I am very happy that in the first year of ownership I have saved $2,510 in gas over the AWD Edge that she used to drive all over town (and for which required twice-weekly fill-ups). Take cost of electricity into account, and that's still about $2,200-2,300 saved over driving the Edge, and this car has more features. And I still smile and can't wait to get behind the wheel of it. :) So far, I've used only 8.12 gallons of gas. I still have 1/4 of the dealership tank. 4118 miles traveled on the odo, 4077 of them are mine. It had a 20+ mile round trip to a Ziebart before I took delivery plus whatever the factory put on it. Still not quite as impressive as Fusion Energi's mileage though. ;) It has never had a malfunction. For that, I'm impressed. I took a couple snapshots of my lifetime screen and trip 1 (which I only reset once the car was in my garage last year), but the forum says I can only upload a file 3.17kb in size. Regards,APM.Here is the informaton about my last tank of gas. The last time I purchased gas was on March 7. I filled up yesterday after 2834.9 miles and 12.20 Gallons according to the trip computer. The EV miles only show 442 because it only goes as high as 999. The total EV miles were actually 2442. My total cost for miles was: 630kWh * 1.2 * 0.12 = 90.72 of electricity plus $43.88 of gas = $134.60 total or $0.04780 per mile. One thing that impressed me is how close the amount of gas I was able to refill was to the amount shown on the trip computer: 12.261 vs. 12.20 Regards,APM Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
