When you get your FastTrac device, keep it in the static-bag when using the carpool lanes. If those lanes read the FastTrac you get billed and have to call to clear the bill. If they don't real the FastTrac then they look to the camera and real your license and see that you are approved for free access. Keeping it in the bag was told to my by FastTrac themselves when I called to clear a charge. On the other hand, when you cross a bridge you Must have the FastTrac out of the bag and on the dash. There are a couple of car pool lanes that were converted to toll, I do not drive there often but it would be great if I could drive in those lanes for free!
