My ford touch maps

Hello

 

 

I have just bought my 2013 Ford Fusion.

 

It comes with my ford touch navigation but I can't use it because it doesn't have the maps for my region :( .

 

I live in Jordan/Middle East.

 

 

Is there anyway I can make this work??? :shrug:

 

BTW it came with an A4 SDCard and has the following item number: DM5T-14H449-AA USA/CAN.

I did a quick Google search about that, and unfortunately, I only have found bad news.  From what I see, the MyFord Touch navigation system only supports US/CAN.  2 people were asking for Middle East maps and there aren't any.  However, I wasn't able to find that they're never supporting it, but I wouldn't count on seeing it for a long while. :(

 

I believe the system Ford uses is Telnav... but I have no idea if they have anything available that would be compatible with MyFord for the Middle East.

The maps of Las Vegas are out of date by 3 years....  Also in Arizona when the speed limit is 75 MPH the screen shows a limit of 74 MPH.

Map updates for Ford vehicles located in the United States and Canada are handled by a company called HERE (formerly NavTeq). You can check for updates by visiting their website and adding your vehicle information: www.Navigation.com

So far it indicates 2013 and 2014 Fusions do not have a map update.

Frankly, I don't know why the car can't use cloud maps like from Google.  It has a 2 way cellular data radio in the car... let us pay a monthly subscription for certain services if it's a cost concern.  Google gets updated a LOT.  My TomTom gets around 4 updates a year... the site still says my map is current, even though it's a year out of date.

I'd personally prefer not to have a monthly fee on top of a $800 option (especially for something that is free on my existing smartphone).  But then again, I didn't really want the navigation option but couldn't find an Energi on the lot without it.
