Checkers Posted March 25, 2014 at 05:54 PM Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 at 05:54 PM Hello, In my ongoing quest to find the best deal out there to get into a FFE. I found a 2013 Titanium with all the options. Drivers assist, ACC, navigation, park assist, moonroof. It has only 5000 miles on it (which for me is about 2 months of driving). It was out into service at the end of 2013 and was registered to FoMoCo and sold at auction just a few weeks ago. The asking price is 30k. It is not listed as certified used, just regular used. I am assuming it is an early production car driven by someone in Dearborn (for sale in Detroit area). Is there anything I should look out for beyond TSB updates I have seen on this forum? Only 5000 miles in less than 15 months is very low mileage for sure. Thanks in advance your your help!
murphy Posted March 25, 2014 at 06:33 PM Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 at 06:33 PM If you have the VIN for the car go here http://www.researchmaniacs.com/Ford/TrackFactoryCarOrders.html scroll down and insert the VIN into the box and then click the button. This will give you the window sticker for the car which will have the MSRP for the car. Next go here http://www.etis.ford.com/ Click on Vehicle and insert the VIN This will provide the date of manufacture in European format (DD/MM/YY). That should give you enough information to make a decision. I think the MSRP will be around $45,000.
Checkers Posted March 25, 2014 at 07:56 PM Author Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 at 07:56 PM Great sites! Thank you for the help murphy! Interesting finds, on the top site for the window sticker, it shows the car with no moonroof, who puts all these options on a car without a moonroof?!? This might be a deal breaker unless the it can get the price down lower than asking. The second interesting fact is that when I searched for the vin on the cup second site, the vehicle description came up ok with all the specs, but the name f the car instead of Fusion was Transit Connect, weird! Well. The search might be continuing..... Not sure yet.
murphy Posted March 25, 2014 at 08:02 PM Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 at 08:02 PM Transit Connect is normal. The web site is in Europe and the Fusion isn't sold in Europe.

jeff_h Posted March 25, 2014 at 08:20 PM Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 at 08:20 PM What's the VIN on this car? If it was registered to Ford I wonder if it was a demo vehicle (not a bad thing, IMHO) or a buyback vehicle (not a good thing, IMHO). I don't see the point in paying for it though...
Checkers Posted March 25, 2014 at 11:30 PM Author Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 at 11:30 PM What's the VIN on this car? If it was registered to Ford I wonder if it was a demo vehicle (not a bad thing, IMHO) or a buyback vehicle (not a good thing, IMHO). I am guessing that it was not a demo, it was showing Ford as the owner for almost 15 months or a buy back.
murphy Posted March 25, 2014 at 11:47 PM Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 at 11:47 PM If Ford owned it for 15 months it's unlikely to be a buy back. That's before general production started on the Energi. Maybe used by a Ford Executive or a show car.

That's before general production started on the Energi. Maybe used by a Ford Executive or a show car. I'd be curious to pull up the window sticker and see who the original dealer was... and also would check the VIN in Carfax and Autocheck and see what type of activity was recorded. Rexracer Posted March 26, 2014 at 05:08 PM Report Share Posted March 26, 2014 at 05:08 PM Sounds like a Ford Executive car. Since it has been registered, do you get the 4007 tax rebate? If not I would say its not a bad, but not a great deal. If you do, then I would say its a great deal. This is more then I paid for a "new" car in December. I still see 24x 2013 FFEs near me Toledo Ohio. they should be making huge deals on those cars (10-15k off MSRP) http://www.inventory.ford.com/dealer/Vancouver-Ford-Inc-08547/dealerLot?zipcode=97203&model=Fusion&year=2013&segment=Car&modeltrim=Fusion_F02-ENERGISE;Fusion_F02-ENERGITITANIUM&return=Complete#vin=vin3FA6P0H76DR386815

Checkers Posted March 26, 2014 at 07:29 PM Author Report Share Posted March 26, 2014 at 07:29 PM Is there a website to see if the rebate was taken? If it was registered to Ford Motor, would they take the rebate? if it was sold at auction, would the buyer be eligible for the rebate? this certainly would help making a decision? Thanks!
