vett93 Posted March 22, 2014 at 06:35 PM Report Share Posted March 22, 2014 at 06:35 PM Has anyone replaced the factory struts/shocks and used stiffer ones from aftermarket? Please share your experience.

vett93 Posted April 3, 2014 at 05:50 AM Author Report Share Posted April 3, 2014 at 05:50 AM For the rear shocks for Fusion Energi, I have found 3 Motorcraft part numbers on Rock Auto:http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,7556These 3 Motorcraft part numbers are: ASH24517, ASH24573, and ASH24578. Any pointer on where I can find specs of these shocks? I want to get ones that are stiffer than stock.
darrelld Posted June 9, 2014 at 11:57 AM Report Share Posted June 9, 2014 at 11:57 AM (edited) Anyone make progress addressing the suspension bounce? I took a test drive in the 2014 Fusion Energi Titanium model this weekend and noticed a good bit of bouce over wavy road surfaces. At the time I wrote it off to having 2 passengers in the rear seat but further research is suggesting otherwise. Everything else about the Energi is great except for this one issue. I have also discovered the Energi uses Ford's control blade suspension setup vs the hybrid version and this may make finding aftermarket parts more challenging. Rexracer Posted June 9, 2014 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2014 at 05:21 PM I have not heard of anyone coming up with a "solution". With the bigger battery pack its just like having 2x LARGE passengers in the trunk (why are you carrying people in the trunk?) all the time. As a guy who races road course tracks, it doesn't bother me much, its just the trade off for carrying the big battery around.
JPhilBradley Posted July 17, 2016 at 10:20 PM Report Share Posted July 17, 2016 at 10:20 PM As something to add to this, I just lifted my '15 Energi in the air yesterday to find both rear shocks leaking heavily @ 6900 miles. I drive it very consciously and know that 'driving style' was not a contributing factor. Anyone else have this issue?
Tammap Posted October 17, 2016 at 11:11 PM Report Share Posted October 17, 2016 at 11:11 PM 16 Energi with 16k miles on the clock with no issues with the struts except.... By the way the OEM shocks/struts on most domestic vehicles are junk even when it's new. Monroe, Gabriel and Motocraft shocks/Struts doesn't meet my standards I have contacted "Bilstein" and requested to have shocks/struts made for Hybrid vehicles due to additional HVB weight in the back seat. Crossed my fingers!

I drive it very consciously and know that 'driving style' was not a contributing factor. Anyone else have this issue? I just took my 2013 Fusion Energi to the dealer for it's annual state inspection. They said the rear shocks are both leaking - replace cost - $700. Starting to research it now. I replaced the Struts on my 2009 Buick Enclave, so I assume I will be able to do it for the Fusion as well. Youtube here I come...
Tammap Posted March 13, 2017 at 06:54 PM Report Share Posted March 13, 2017 at 06:54 PM Too bad I just took my 2013 Fusion Energi to the dealer for it's annual state inspection. KYB is a step up from the Motorcraft.and two steps behind Bilstein http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,2013,fusion,2.0l+l4+electric/gas,2002840,suspension,strut,7584
