dnorris78 Posted March 10, 2014 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted March 10, 2014 at 05:21 PM Does anyone have a problem with surface scratches on the center console shiny black trim? Can I use a plastic polish to remove the scratches?

Gigi Posted March 12, 2014 at 02:36 AM Report Share Posted March 12, 2014 at 02:36 AM Not yet, but the mention of them triggers a sense of dread in me. Is there some kind of film that could be used as a protector?
Eric4539 Posted March 12, 2014 at 06:08 PM Report Share Posted March 12, 2014 at 06:08 PM I do not have many surface scratches on the center console. But I tested 2 products that I have on a CD case. I figured if they work on a clear CD case they will work on my piano black console. Nu Finish is by far the best for me. I use it on everything. It removed the scratches on the CD case very well. The only thing is that it has a stronger odor like a car polish does (since it is a car polish). I also have Novus No. 1 Plastic Clean & Shine. That product did not do as well but it did help. It has a less offensive odor; more like alcohol and it sprays on (pump spray not aerosol). Novus also makes other formulas; No. 2 Fine Scratch Remover and No. 3 Heavy Scratch Remover. I would suspect that Novus No. 2 would be better for use on the center console to remove surface scratches. But I will use what I have - Nu Finish. Rexracer Posted March 13, 2014 at 06:14 PM Report Share Posted March 13, 2014 at 06:14 PM I havent had any issues yet, but I am also super careful since I expect it to scratch. Im sure you could do some 3M clear film, like used on the fronts of cars. A lot of window tint shopws lay them on custom, so could do that area also is my guess. But thats totally a guess.
