I like the fact that you can you text to speech with the SYNC program but if Im driving with people I dont always want them hearing texts. Is there a way to disable SYNC from reading the text but still having the radio connected to the phone to use pandora regular voice calls Etc etc?

Thanks for the help

On my 2014, an alert pops up on the right screen in the instrument cluster when I have a new text with the options to "Listen", "Cancel", or "Call" (or something like that).  If I'm in the car with people who I don't want to hear the text, I just choose "Cancel".  Similar options also pop up on the main touch screen too.

Based on your original post, I was under the impression that you didn't want it to automatically read the messages - it doesn't automatically read them, it prompts you and you can choose to either listen to it or not.

That being said, I checked in the manual...  Under "Phone Settings", there is a "Message Notification" option that can be set on or off.

You also could turn "do not disturb" on, which will send all calls to voicemail and not notify for new text messages.

ok cool so i guess the message notification does exactly what im wondering. If will just not notify at all when a text appears except on the phone.
