Rexracer Posted February 11, 2014 at 08:34 PM Report Share Posted February 11, 2014 at 08:34 PM (edited) Is it just me or does the intermittent wiper guide seem backward? To me when pointing the stack at the wider bars it should mean longer delay between wipes, and shorter bars means less delay. Is everyones backward like this, or am i just thinking about this wrong? I know my last 2 acuras have been as I think they should, and my Focus before that was the way I think it should (I think). The wording in the picture is how my car functions currently Edited February 11, 2014 at 08:35 PM by Rexracer FusionEnergi
SD Diver Posted February 12, 2014 at 06:33 PM Report Share Posted February 12, 2014 at 06:33 PM (edited) No - you are not alone. Used mine for the first time last week and was confused as well. Sad part is that in SoCal, they hardly get used so next year I'll have the same problem! mmmhmmmm Posted February 13, 2014 at 01:48 AM Report Share Posted February 13, 2014 at 01:48 AM Yes!! I thought I was losing my mind when I first turned these on. If I repaint that little icon it's just not going to look right! There's another control that is backwards. I'll start another post.
seadiel Posted February 28, 2014 at 07:08 PM Report Share Posted February 28, 2014 at 07:08 PM I live in San Diego, and finally today had to use my wipers long enough to play with that. Mine acts just like yours.I agree it does seem backwards.
murphy Posted February 28, 2014 at 07:24 PM Report Share Posted February 28, 2014 at 07:24 PM It was probably a cost saving measure. If the car has the optional Autowipers that control is used to adjust the sensitivity. The largest icon is the most sensitive and the smallest icon is the least sensitive. Think of the icon as the percent of time that the wiper blade will be moving. ;)
Kybuck Posted March 1, 2014 at 03:04 AM Report Share Posted March 1, 2014 at 03:04 AM I can't say that I ever look that closely at the wiper stalk while driving. Another way to think about it - moving the stalk up makes the wipers go more frequently, so rolling the intermittent selector upwards also increases the frequency. Up for faster / more often, down for slower / less often. It's at least consistent in that way.
