Hardp Posted January 27, 2014 at 03:19 PM Report Share Posted January 27, 2014 at 03:19 PM I've set up My Go times to warm my car up so that it's set to 72 degrees when I get into it but it doesn't work. I can set the temp using the Remote Start feature and it works just fine but not with MyGo. Any thoughts?
Russael Posted January 27, 2014 at 04:07 PM Report Share Posted January 27, 2014 at 04:07 PM Couple questions... What model year is your car? Do you hear any fan noise at all when you go out and check your car before unplugging it? Does your charger show that it is in 'charge' mode? And I know you said you set it to 72 degrees... did you set this all through Myford Mobile or did you do it through the car? For whatever reason, you can set a go time with the climate off in MFM (NO idea what benefit that is).

That feature is useful for those who are on "time of use" billing with their electric companies (pay less for electricity during nights and weekends). MFM combines its database of electricity rates and the go times to determine the least expensive time to charge to ensure that the battery is fully charged 15 minutes prior to the go time. I plug my car in every evening when I get home, but it doesn't actually start charging until midnight when the rates are the cheapest. I think the default "value charge" may do the same, but the difference is if I set a go time of 5:30 AM, which is prior to the end of the cheap electric rates (midnight to 6 AM for me), it will start charging just before midnight at the slightly higher rates to make sure the battery is full when I need to leave, but still at the lowest rates possible. Just using value charge without the go time would result in a 90% full battery. (I'm just using the 120 VAC charger that came with the car, at least for the time being.) Another question for the original poster - what charger are you using? The 120 VAC that came with the car, or an upgraded model?

Any thoughts?Hello Hardp, Keep in mind that the Go Times will only work if the vehicle is plugged in since it only uses electricity from the charger, not the battery. Since the remote start feature functions a little differently, you may see different results. In order to adequately precondition the vehicle, I recommend using a 240 volt charger. For whatever reason, you can set a go time with the climate off in MFM (NO idea what benefit that is).GO times tell the car when it should be fully charged. If you don't set a GO time, there is no guarantee that the car will be charged when you want to leave. It may decide to wait until electricity rates are cheaper which may be after your GO time. For example, if I come home after work and plug the car in, it is going to wait until midnight to start charging. If I set a GO time for 8:00 pm, it will charge sooner to make sure that the car is charged by then, even if it has to charge during peak hours to do it. I had the same problem as you have and another forum member shared his experience with everyone. If you're using a 240v charger then this may be your ticket too. The key is to convince your dealer that this TSB is the fix. TSB 13-05-28 is to reprogram the FCIM. If you tell your dealer that this TSB is to fix the Go Times he/she may not believe you. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/1485-go-time-versus-remote-start/?hl=%2Btimes+%2Bworking&do=findComment&comment=10520 Good luck and keep us posted! jeff_h
