If others see and hear how you are managing to do this, it may encourage them to purchase an Energi also.The Energi has been great for my family. We use the EV now setting unless the button gets accidently pushed.More battery range would keep us from having to come home between trips to charge, but the partial charge between trips helps with small kids by allowing for a bathroom break, unloading purchased items creates more trunk space and interior space, and by taking time to get a bite to eat helps to appease those seemingly endless pits. I will get back to you with the Lifetime Summary numbers the next time I use the car. Unfortunately the MyFord mobile app doesn't show that data (that I'm aware of). I am guesstimating that I am using the battery for at least 70% of my miles. I am retired so don't drive that much, but when I do venture out I try to use up all the EV miles and then use just a few hybrid miles to get home. I am constantly amazed at how much "free" energy one gets from the marvelous "regen" process. Having this plugin hybrid has only increased my thirst for a 100% EV, but I do have that range anxiety. The FFE is the only car I have. Just a side note ... I live in Arizona and only recently learned that plugin hybrids are prohibited from using public EV chargers. I understand, but am sure I am not the only one who didn't understand the law here. I will report in with my exact Lifetime Summary figures by tomorrow night. I don't travel anywhere near as much as others do (had the car 8 months and have 2500 miles), and I think I've used about 2 gallons of gas total, only because it's been so wicked cold this year. I do have to understand where the EV-ers are coming from. If they run out of juice, they are SOL. But if a plugin hybrid runs out of juice, we can still use the hybrid mode. Yes, it was a choice to buy an EV, but I applaud their bravery and hope to have one myself someday. I just was not brave enough to get one given the limited mileage range now on models I could afford. And yes, there are a lot of EVs in Arizona. There are well over 100 Teslas just in the Phoenix area. Probably more Nissan Leafs. I plan to go to a local electric auto association meeting this weekend and I'll get some figures. I'm curious. I know that an EV-er would not report me if I used a public charger just so long as there was one for them. But I have really only had one occasion where a public charger was available in a location where I was going to be for at least an hour. I wish they were available at most restaurants and malls. 'Sorry this is late but here are my figures: Odometer = 5306.9Lifetime Summary EV miles = 3800.2Lifetime regen miles = 727.5Lifetime MPG = 78.5Lifetime brake score = 89% I believe that makes my percentage of EV use 71.61% but math has never been my strength. I have tried both EV now and EV Auto. I have decided to stay with EV Auto in most cases. My longest recorded miles using EV are 33 miles for 1 non-stop trip. I had one day where I got a total of 44 EV miles from many stops, but I don't check the data every day. It looks like my average battery range on a typical day is 22-27 miles. I just love the quiet of using just the battery and hate when it is so low that it goes into hybrid mode. My previous 5+ years driving a hybrid have really prepared me for driving this plugin hybrid. I use light but steady pressure on the accelerator. I coast as often as safely possible. And I try to brake as gently as possible to get the highest return. I stay with the traffic flow (no one honks at me), but drive "slow but stately" as often as I can. I have to confess that it didn't take long for me to wish I had a 100% EV, even thought the FFE is wonderfully comfortable and fun to drive. I would definitely recommend the FFE to anyone considering a plugin hybrid. Of course my dream car is a Tesla, but the model I want would be twice as much (or more) as the FFE. I am right beneath you in the Renaissance Man category (HKs Fusion Energi) 3rd place. 96% Of the 7,823 miles driven 6,496 are EV milesEnergy use 145.1 MPG I am thrilled to get 29 to 32 miles per charge.
