carnut56 Posted January 7, 2014 at 09:09 AM Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 at 09:09 AM (edited) I joined after purchasing a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi when the local Ford Dealer in Pittsburg, California made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I traded in a 2012 Hyundai3.8 sedan which actually was an excellent car, but my New Year's Resolution was to pay as little as possible to the oil companies and the Fusion Energi seemed tobe the most cost effective way to do this. The discounts, Ford rebates, and government rebates even out the depreciation hit on the Genesis, and that is what madethis move doable. The wife is a green car enthusiast, having purchased a Kia Optima Hybrid two years earlier, and IMHO the Optima and Fusion are the two bestlooking mid size sedans available. I will miss the 333 horsepower of the Genesis, but the Fusion drives a little sportier and hopefully I will catch the enthusiasm ofothers here to be as energy efficient with the Fusion as possible. I have owned many cars during the course of my soon to be 66 years, including two BMWs, a1997 Lincoln Mark VII LSC, a 1993 Nissan 300ZX, a Mazda RX-7, and horror of horrors, a 1981 Chevrolet Citation X-11. From 1985 to 1990 I sold new Ford productsfor a living as a fleet manager, and am now a retired State of California Investigator for the Department of Consumer Affairs. Reading this forum helped make mymind up to buy the 2013 Fusion Energi that is now charging for my use tomorrow. I will close in quoting Car and Driver's response to the styling of our cars:"Mr. Bond, we have found your rental car!" Russael Posted January 7, 2014 at 12:56 PM Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 at 12:56 PM Hello and welcome to your new car. :) I'm glad all the discussions we've had on the forums helped you reach a decision to jump onboard. Use the search feature if you have questions to see if an answer has been previously posted, but if you can't find anything, then ask away. Ford service representatives now patrol the forum and a lot of us have learned a ton from the vehicle too, so you should get a prompt response. carnut56
Eric4539 Posted January 7, 2014 at 11:55 PM Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 at 11:55 PM Congratulations on your new Energi! I like all of your previous vehicles except perhaps the Chevy Citation, although at the time it was one of the sportier looking Chevy's. Your wife drives a Kia Optima Hybrid. Once she spends time behind the wheel of your Energi who knows what she'll say. There is another member of this forum that now has His & Hers Energi's..... :) carnut56
