FordService Posted December 14, 2013 at 12:15 AM Report Share Posted December 14, 2013 at 12:15 AM Hi, everyone! My name is Ashley and I’m your brand new U.S. Ford Customer Service rep. :) My primary role here will be to answer any questions you may have about newer models, to assist with vehicle concerns, and to track any vehicle orders you may be placing. I am in the office M – F 2:30 p.m. until 11 p.m., but I will be transitioning to 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the start of 2014. With the holidays around the corner, there will be a few days I won’t be around, but I’ll be sure to post out-of-office messages when necessary. Generally speaking, I’ll keep my eyes open for any relevant discussion and jump in publicly to assist whenever possible. If you have something you want to talk to me directly about, feel free to send me a PM. The only time I’ll ask you to reach out privately is when I’m looking for personal information, but I’ll make sure you guys (and gals) know what to send over if and when that time comes. Some items that I probably won’t be able to help with include: older/high-mileage vehicles, details about future vehicles that aren’t yet made public, vehicle modifications, and questions/concerns about in-vehicle technology. We plan to add an agent who specializes in IVT (including SYNC, MyFord Touch, navigation, and SiriusXM) in the near future. We’ll be sure to let you know when he or she arrives. I’m excited to finally be here as part of this community and I’m looking forward to speaking with you all soon! jeff_h Posted December 14, 2013 at 12:51 AM Report Share Posted December 14, 2013 at 12:51 AM Thanks, good to have you here. One consistent item in several threads is that of MyFordMobile, which experiences downtime and yes that happens - but the thing that really concerns me are the people who can't get their VIN accepted by their MFM account and don't get much help from the MFM help desk reps. For me personally, I experienced duplicate trips in my MFM account several months ago, got a ticket opened by the MFM staff and never heard back from them. The duplicate trips stopped and things were fine until yesterday, when I saw a bunch of them again -- since I never got any feedback from the MFM staff on my first request, I don't know if it's worth notifying them again as I doubt that I will hear back. This is just a simple nuisance and doesn't affect much, but is a lack of customer service that could be improved. TX NRG

ChuckJ Posted December 14, 2013 at 03:13 PM Report Share Posted December 14, 2013 at 03:13 PM (edited) Welcome Ashley. Were there any performance or technical advances made to the 2014 Energi, over the 2013?I would also like to welcome you Ashley. I was just thinking about asking if anyone on the forum was from the Ford Technical community. One thing we would all probably be interested is future improvements for the Energi. Trunk space, EV range, ICE growl, new electronic goodies, pointing / LED headlights, etc. for the 2016 and future / mid life upgrade come to mind. shaggy314 Posted December 16, 2013 at 08:15 PM Report Share Posted December 16, 2013 at 08:15 PM (edited) Hello and welcome, I do NOT envy your job having to deal with us. My small annoyance with the MFM (you'll get LOTS of TLAs here*):Gas Sipper - Most miles traveled without adding more gasoline. It reports my miles without adding gas at 40 miles for the last 4 months when I'll go 40 miles electric in a day. With 6 months & 8100 miles, I've only put gas in 3 times, no way I'm 40 miles since adding gas, my last tank was closer to 3,100. Perhaps they can look into that? * My Ford Mobile, Three Letter Acronyms Edited December 23, 2013 at 07:49 PM by shaggy314

My distance traveled for the Gas Sipper statistic is currently 17 miles... only because I went 17 miles yesterday. Prior to that, it was 10. There is a certain level of unreasonability to topping off a car and 17 miles is absurd. :) Prior to that, it was 10. I thought it might count an electric charge but it doesn't do that either. It currently only measures how far you drove before turning the car off.

FordService Posted December 17, 2013 at 01:48 AM Author Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 at 01:48 AM Welcome Ashley. Were there any performance or technical advances made to the 2014 Energi, over the 2013? pluggedin, The majority of the changes for 2014 were additional available features, rather than major changes to the technical aspects of the car. Some of these were: additional exterior colors, an interior appearance package, and available heated/cooled seats. I would also like to welcome you Ashley. TAP4601 Posted January 4, 2014 at 05:47 PM Report Share Posted January 4, 2014 at 05:47 PM Hi Ashley, It's great to see Ford participating on Forums of this nature!! I just leased a 2013 Fusion Energi. I was very pleases with the end of year incentives ;-). I did have one question (feedback really) about the advertising fee that wasn't disclosed until "signing time". First off, can you confirm that this is a legit charge that the deal incurs from Ford and not something they added? Assuming so, the feedback is that the optics on this fee is poor. First off, I'm not sure why Ford is breaking this cost out as a line item vs including it in the base pricing. Second the transparency around this fee is poor. As an educated buyer, I don't like finding out about fees like this when it is time to put pen to paper ;-) I think sites like Edmunds should be made aware of this fee, so that buyers don't get surprised. Third, I don't feel that Ford is doing enough to advertise the Fusion Energi, so paying this fee "feels wrong" when I had to do a lot of research to even decide on the Fusion Energi (e.g. I found you; You didn't find me). Anyway, this feedback is meant to be constructive. I know we are in 'early days' with EVs\PHEVs and I trust that this fee is not a model specific advertising fee. That said, since buying the FFE, I've seen a handful of Fusion ads and not one mention of the Energi. Happy New Year! I hope was can interact as questions come up (I pick-up my car on Wednesday). Very excited.

Edmunds has a paragraph that mentions advertising fees (in the "Buyer's Ed" section, maybe you were expecting to see something like that listed in the "Price with Options" section) , which are not limited to Ford but is a common thing that other brands also have - http://www.edmunds.com/car-buying/what-fees-should-you-pay.html

shaggy314 Posted January 6, 2014 at 07:43 PM Report Share Posted January 6, 2014 at 07:43 PM (edited) When I ask elsewhere about gas sipper not working, I was told it was due to the key I was using but they couldn't reconcile that idea with the other 3 stats that are working on that same key. I must have missed this on Edmunds. Glad to know this is/was a legit fee. Still...not showing this on the sticker contributes to the perception that dealers inflate their profits with hidden fees. For me it more of a transparency thing. Of course the automotive industry isn't exactly known for transparency on pricing...LOL
