Hardp Posted December 7, 2013 at 05:57 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2013 at 05:57 PM I have LKA with MyKey so it's always on. However, when I set it to "Aid+Alert" and turn the car off, the next time I start, it's reverted to "Aid" only. The manual suggests it should remember the A+A setting. Am I reading the manual incorrectly? Or not setting it correctly? Thanks.

SD Diver Posted December 7, 2013 at 11:20 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2013 at 11:20 PM How do you even get it to stay on? I know - RTFM... I have to remember to activate each time.

I have to remember to activate each time.We wern't talking about turning lane assist on. That is a manual operation each time the car is turned on. We were talking about whether there should just be a warning or a warning + steering assist. That is what should stay the way it was set in the menu. Hardp Posted December 8, 2013 at 03:42 PM Author Report Share Posted December 8, 2013 at 03:42 PM Ok. Here's what I've figured out re LKA...so far. When ONLY MyKey is present, regardless of the mode selected (and there are ony two choices, Aid Only or Aid + Alert), each time you re-start the Vehicle it defaults to Aid Only. If the Admin key is present, you get THREE mode choices: Aid Only, Alert Only and Aid+Alert. If you select Aid +Alert mode and turn the car off, then the next time you start the Vehicle, IF theAdmin key is present, it "remembers" the Aid + Alert mode...BUT if only My Key is present, it defaults to Aid Only mode. That makes no sense. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
Hardp Posted December 8, 2013 at 03:57 PM Author Report Share Posted December 8, 2013 at 03:57 PM Clarification on my last Post. The default is "Alert Only" not "Aid Only." But pg 190 of the Manual says the system remembers the last setting.
larryh Posted December 8, 2013 at 04:05 PM Report Share Posted December 8, 2013 at 04:05 PM (edited) The MyKey settings are programmed using the Admin key. MyKey users cannot override the settings that were made via the Admin Key. I would try programming the optional settings the way you want as described in the manual on page 48 using the admin key. I'm not sure if it will remember the settings for LKA. But I would not expect the LKA settings you mentioned above to be restricted options that require admin privileges. Rebelhart Posted March 12, 2014 at 11:11 AM Report Share Posted March 12, 2014 at 11:11 AM I'm a new owner (one month today)...I have a question, and my dealer is still researching the answer. I used to be able to see the Lane Changing Assist visual on my screen (car with lanes...green until you cross the lane then turns red)...now it seems as if I do not have it enabled. I have gone through the settings and can't seem to find HOW to active - I have changed the settings to Aid Only, Alert Only, and Aid & Alert, but nothing seems to display the visual. Could someone please let me know. I'm sure it has an obvious ON/OFF, but I am going crazy trying to find it! Much appreciated. I have the 2014 Fusion Energi Itanium, and LOVE IT! Eric4539 Posted March 12, 2014 at 04:40 PM Report Share Posted March 12, 2014 at 04:40 PM When you turn the car off Lane Keeping Assist turns off. You have to turn it on, if you want to use it, each time you drive. At the end of the turn signal stalk is the on/off button. One thing to be aware of is that it is ease to inadvertently turn LKA on/off when you use your turn signals as you're driving. blars Posted March 12, 2014 at 07:03 PM Report Share Posted March 12, 2014 at 07:03 PM I do not have to turn the lane keep assist every time I drive...that display is always on for me, every time I use the car.
Eric4539 Posted March 13, 2014 at 01:28 AM Report Share Posted March 13, 2014 at 01:28 AM That's a good point blars; I forgot about that. You must be using a MyKey, then Lane Keeping defaults to On. Otherwise every time you start the car Lane Keeping has to be turned on. The default is set to Off. I'll have to check on using a MyKey. Rebelhart Posted March 14, 2014 at 05:37 AM Report Share Posted March 14, 2014 at 05:37 AM Thank you! I found it, finally...just where you said, at the tip of the turn signal (left). :-)
