Elsny Posted November 24, 2013 at 04:19 AM Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 at 04:19 AM Is it true that if your battery dies you can't get into trunk to jump it, or open gas filling cover?I was told recently. I have my Fusion Energi for 6 weeks now and love it. Never see more than 19 miles on display after a full charge but I am averaging over 60 mpg on my 300 miles per week (half of which is highway at over 70 mph). Also myford mobile app stopped seeing my car after 2 days and can't get it back. Don't have time to go to dealer so its really annoying. All in all.. Great car so far!! TX NRG Posted November 24, 2013 at 07:37 AM Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 at 07:37 AM Jumping the battery should be done from the terminal posts under the hood. See this thread for helpful tips, including post #10 which has a picture of the jump points. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/1220-preparation-before-your-12-volt-battery-dies/ jeff_h and FusionEnergi
Russael Posted November 24, 2013 at 11:20 PM Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 at 11:20 PM To answer your question about opening the trunk if your 12v battery dies and you DON'T have a jump available... you are correct, you can't get in to the trunk without some finagling. Some have folded down the back seats and have some sort of hook to pull the emergency trunk release from inside the car which will open it. That helps if you keep a jump battery in your trunk. I'm not aware of a manual trunk release... there is only one for the driver's side door which in turn will give you access to your hood release. Likewise, I'm not sure of a manual fuel door release either if your 12v is dead. I THINK there is mention of one in the manual though. First you have to get the trunk open however. Edited November 24, 2013 at 11:53 PM by murphy
