Hybridbear Posted December 18, 2014 at 04:03 PM Report Share Posted December 18, 2014 at 04:03 PM Again last night the car showed the wrong location. This time it was incorrect in both latitude & longitude. It showed it as being about 1 mile north and a half mile east of its actual location when charging. Hybridbear Posted January 22, 2015 at 10:53 PM Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 at 10:53 PM Today MFM thinks the car is in Quebec... I drove to work today and parked way deep inside the ramp. I will try to remember to check how many satellites are visible before I leave work to see what it says.
jeff_h Posted January 22, 2015 at 11:00 PM Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 at 11:00 PM Today MFM thinks the car is in Quebec... Great, welcome to the twilight zone... as I noted in a post on the hybrid forum, I have to think that parking in that covered garage that I do (with the Chargepoint station) is a factor as it's the only place this occurs for me. And also I checked the stats on Chargepoint and charged at that location 185 times last year and yet it still has never gone into EV+ before parking at that location. EV+ is active at probably 5-6 other locations where I park my car often, but never for that twilight zone parking garage, for whatever reason. No wonder, 0 satellites visible. jeff_h
jeff_h Posted April 29, 2015 at 11:32 AM Report Share Posted April 29, 2015 at 11:32 AM It's been a few months, I thought my car had decided to stay on the home-front, but now it's Spring and I guess it's time to get more adventurous as twice this week the car has ventured to faraway places -- but since it only happens when plugged into the chargepoint station near work (which is in a covered garage and near a large satellite dish as shown above in the thread) it's just interesting to see where the car says it is, and I wouldn't want things monkeyed with anyway. Back on Monday the car decided to go on walkabout - but on the bright side, MFM is working well when the car is on the other side of the world... And then this morning the car got closer to home again -- but sitting in the middle of the ocean off the coast of Atlantic City, and it's still charging! Hybridbear Posted April 30, 2015 at 03:51 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2015 at 03:51 PM Today the Focus Electric is confused again and it thinks it's on the other side of the Twin Cities.

Oh I get it, it has range anxiety and can't venture off to faraway lands and seas... Hybridbear
lonzo71 Posted May 11, 2015 at 11:13 AM Report Share Posted May 11, 2015 at 11:13 AM I took the wife's Explorer in last week. We thought we would get it back the same day, but come to find out, they had to replace the GPS mod. I think Ford needs to change who they get their supplies from. A custom order or any brand new car, shouldnt have these kind of problems from day 1...and if we could charge ford as much as they charge per hour, they'll fix the supply chain. Hybridbear Posted May 19, 2015 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted May 19, 2015 at 05:21 PM Today it's my parents' C-Max Energi that's being adventurous and traveling the world. It's sailing the South Pacific.
stevedebi Posted May 19, 2015 at 07:21 PM Report Share Posted May 19, 2015 at 07:21 PM I have to say that with all the electronics, getting the vehicle that wet is not recommended! :) lonzo71, Hybridbear and jeff_h
Hybridbear Posted May 20, 2015 at 12:36 AM Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 at 12:36 AM Does anyone know how to reset the navigation system? My parents' C-Max still shows on MFM as being near Fiji even when they're driving it and the navigation quadrant of the MFT screen is frozen and won't update their location. murphy Posted May 20, 2015 at 01:17 AM Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 at 01:17 AM Disconnecting the negative lead of the 12 volt battery should make everything restart. Or you could pull the fuse for the GPS and verify it's not blown. I don't know about a C-Max but disconnecting the battery in a Fusion is a lot easier than getting to the fuse panel. I had checked it last night when my parents were driving and the navigation on the MFT screen wouldn't work and it still showed a goofy location. My mom texted me last night when they were coming home to say that it was now working and the location on MFM this morning shows correctly. lonzo71
jeff_h Posted August 9, 2016 at 01:33 AM Report Share Posted August 9, 2016 at 01:33 AM Her car had behaved itself for over a year... and then this evening had a relapse... but instead of being stuck out near Australia or off the coast of Africa, this time we are touring off the coast of South America. At least the car tours different places!
Ralphddc Posted April 16, 2021 at 06:08 PM Report Share Posted April 16, 2021 at 06:08 PM I'm having the same issue. My vehicle frequently shows up parallel on a road near where I actually am. This has caused me to end up missing exits and having to pull over to google my location.
