frbill Posted October 26, 2013 at 04:37 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2013 at 04:37 PM I just had an electrician come out to do a site survey for an L2 charger. I won't be able to get one until probably January but I have been doing some research. Has anyone purchased or had experience with the Clipper Creek LCS-25P? It seems to be just what I need. I get moved around a lot and want something that is really portable. Any info would be appreciated. P.S. I am loving driving around on EV all the time Peace, Father Bill

jeff_h Posted October 26, 2013 at 11:03 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2013 at 11:03 PM (edited) Is it the hardwired or plug version? Mine did not come with a plug (has 3 wires only), but a plug could be ordered online for about $20... when I had the electrician wire it up (a new breaker was needed) he didn't put on a plug but put a junction box on the wall so I could easily flip the breaker and disconnect it myself if the charger needed to be moved elsewhere. bfukumoto Posted December 7, 2013 at 07:07 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2013 at 07:07 PM Just had the LCS25-P installed in my garage yesterday and it works great. Cost of the charger was $549 + tax + shipping direct from Clipper Creek (located in Auburn, CA). The 240V/30A circuit and NEMA 14-30 receptacle installation cost was $310. jeff_h

You may want to consider doing this in the 2013 calendar year so that you can deduct some of the cost from your taxes. As of now, the deduction will not be available in January. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/1528-electric-car-charging-station-tax-credit-expires-on-dec-31st/?p=9538 jeff_h and frbill
frbill Posted December 10, 2013 at 04:01 PM Author Report Share Posted December 10, 2013 at 04:01 PM I actually went ahead and did the install about a month ago. I was able to find the $ to do it sooner so that I can pursue the tax credit. jeff_h
