Hardp Posted October 21, 2013 at 02:32 PM Report Share Posted October 21, 2013 at 02:32 PM I am a new Energi owner (about 1 month. I use the 110 V charger that came with the car and I generally plug it in when I get home from work and then unplug it the next morning. I also have the MyFord Mobile app so I generally get an email that says: Hello,Fred's Energi is fully charged.Enjoy your ride! When I drive off, I have 22 miles of electric energy but then, after I've unplugged the charger, by the time I get to work I get a follow-up email that says: Hello,We thought you would like to know that Fred's Energi has experienced an accidental unplug while charging. Please plug Fred's Energi in for the charging to continue. any thoughts on what's going on and do I need to be concerned/
Russael Posted October 21, 2013 at 02:42 PM Report Share Posted October 21, 2013 at 02:42 PM It's a bug with the Myford Mobile system that's been around for a while, unfortunately. I disabled that particular alert, mostly because it doesn't matter much since the car has a gasoline engine. Some have indicated that if they press and hold the disconnect button on the plug to the car itself for 5 seconds and then withdraw it, they don't get that alert, but you shouldn't get that alert ANYWAY if the car is fully charged. shaggy314 Posted October 21, 2013 at 07:29 PM Report Share Posted October 21, 2013 at 07:29 PM Yeah, nothing I try makes the randomness of the alert go or not. I can say it never seems to happen when I use the CP chargers and card it before I unplug. At home it doesn't seem to matter as I have a switch on the charger. I would say ANY disconnect once fully charge could be safely ruled non-accidental.
Hardp Posted October 21, 2013 at 07:35 PM Author Report Share Posted October 21, 2013 at 07:35 PM What do you mean by "...and card it"? And when you say "non-accidental" I'm not sure what you're getting it. Do you mean that "it's not accidental" because it wasn't unplugged until it was ready to be so it wasn't an "accidental" unplugging?
