Dag Posted October 6, 2013 at 03:34 PM Report Share Posted October 6, 2013 at 03:34 PM (edited) It rained pretty good here in Indy this weekend, and when I went to charge up, I noticed the LED Charging ring had collected a little bit of water. I'm assuming this is not normal. Edited October 6, 2013 at 04:25 PM by Dag
ChuckJ Posted October 6, 2013 at 03:47 PM Report Share Posted October 6, 2013 at 03:47 PM (edited) Dag:That can't be good for the contacts. I would take those pictures in and see if the dealer would replace the seal. We do not get any water in when we take it to the car wash and that's strong pressure. Griff Posted October 6, 2013 at 06:33 PM Report Share Posted October 6, 2013 at 06:33 PM I get water in mine all the time when it rains or when I wash the car. It seems to drain/evaporate fairly quickly. Didn't think it was an issue. Kind of like water in the door jambs or near the gas cap. jeff_h

Russael Posted October 7, 2013 at 10:54 AM Report Share Posted October 7, 2013 at 10:54 AM I also get water in the LED ring, but I noticed the plug always stays dry even after a washing or heavy rain, so I'm thinking it's fine. jeff_h

ChuckJ Posted October 10, 2013 at 02:31 AM Report Share Posted October 10, 2013 at 02:31 AM According to the dealer this is "Normal"Well, the best news is that if it stays that way it's probably going to get corroded and stop working (within the warranty period). Then they will get to replace it. ChuckJ
Depauwler Posted October 13, 2013 at 12:51 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2013 at 12:51 PM When you know it's going to rain, perhaps try putting some paper towel around the contacts and shutting the door. When it stops raining, or perhaps after a while and under cover, check to see if the paper is wet. Don't want to give it time to dry out. Staceyk Posted October 17, 2013 at 12:59 PM Report Share Posted October 17, 2013 at 12:59 PM The dealer here in Massachusetts told me that is normal. I can't wait until it snows and it fills up with sand/salt from the roads being treated. Dag

Energized Posted October 26, 2013 at 02:01 AM Report Share Posted October 26, 2013 at 02:01 AM Mine looks the same, however, I verified on mine that the water is BEHIND the translucent ring, and not inside the translucent ring. I verified this after washing my car by blowing the water out with an air compressor. The water is between the fender and the translucent ring which sits against the fender. If I don't blow the water out it leaves by itself fairly quickly.
