Dag Posted October 4, 2013 at 01:02 AM Report Share Posted October 4, 2013 at 01:02 AM (edited) When I pull the lever inside the car only the drivers side of the hood releases. I can see and touch the yellow secondary release, but the passengers side is still engaged. I can't open the hood. Thoughts? Eric4539 Posted October 4, 2013 at 02:45 AM Report Share Posted October 4, 2013 at 02:45 AM Houston we have a problem! I suppose a visit to the dealer is in order. I am not a mechanic but it sounds like the passenger side latch must be stuck. My hood pops open easily.
murphy Posted October 4, 2013 at 08:56 AM Report Share Posted October 4, 2013 at 08:56 AM Have someone else hold the hood release in its maximum release position while you push down on that side and then try to open the hood. If that doesn't work you have an issue covered by the warranty. Dag
yellow05gt Posted October 4, 2013 at 07:48 PM Report Share Posted October 4, 2013 at 07:48 PM Is the car plugged in when trying to open the hood?
Dag Posted October 4, 2013 at 07:56 PM Author Report Share Posted October 4, 2013 at 07:56 PM It was the first time. I unplugged and tried again. Same result
Dag Posted October 7, 2013 at 06:13 PM Author Report Share Posted October 7, 2013 at 06:13 PM Fixed - apparently there are two cables that operate the hood release. As you know there is a latch on the drivers and passengers side. The cable that was connected to the passengers side was not connected. It's fixed now. I'm a touch concerned that the reason I noticed it was because the car was delivered without windshield washer fluid - so I guess during PDI it was just "Signed off on" rather than actually checked. In any event, it's fixed, I can now open the hood.
