The drops slowly drop in and fall on to what seems like a trap (or pan) on the sides of the sun roof. I have taken it in once before for service and they adjusted the the glass a bit and said that it was corrected, but I still noticed drops coming in after this. Now I took it to a different service center and the service adviser told me that "all sun roofs leak" and that is normal. He said this is why there is a sill around the inside of the sun roof to trap the incoming water and route it through ducts to the outside. This is news to me!!! Anyone have this sort of problem with their sun roof? Is this normal? PS - Prior to my Fusion Engergi purchase I had an oldmobile alero for 13 years and never noticed drops of rain coming in from the sun roof... This is my 4th car with a sunroof and I have not experienced any leaks on any of my vehicles. I used to live in Georgia where it rained a lot and never had a leaking sunroof. Unfortunately my FFE did not come with a sunroof so I had to have it installed. So far, it has NOT leaked, but I am in Arizona and haven't had a whole lot of rain. I have had the car go through a car wash at least 4 times. When I had the sunroof installed, the dealership adviser told me I needed to have it inspected (for like $80-$90 every year!) to make sure it wasn't leaking. This made me furious. I will mention it to the Ford dealer closer to me, but he will probably make me go back to the dealership that installed the sunroof - an 80+ mile round-trip drive. The closer Ford dealer refused to install the sunroof and keeps referring me back to the selling dealer quite often. I am really getting sick of these Ford dealers not cooperating or doing reciprocal work. It's the customer who suffers. What if I'd bought the car in New York and then moved to Arizona?!? If that is correct, than yes, what you are seeing is how moonroofs are supposed to work. Water will seep through the gaps between the glass and metal. From there it is trapped by the sills which leads to drains which empties the water. That's how all moonroofs are designed to work. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Since the moonroof was not a factory installed unit, your warranty will only be with the company that installed the aftermarket moonroof and the dealer that represented the moonroof company. A different, independently owned dealer will not be able to honor the moonroof warranty unless that dealer also has a relationship with that aftermarket moonroof company. An auto manufacturer's warranty will not cover aftermarket items added to a vehicle, whether it be a moonroof, special wheels, window tinting, etc. Factory approved accessories however are typically be covered by the auto manufacturer's new car warranty. Glass Panel in closed position: - Opening a wet panel to tilt position after a rainfall. - Rainfall on the glass panel. - Automatic car-wash (with brushes) treatment. - Manual vehicle wash with hose at 87 PSI for 5 minutes at a distance of 3 feet (maximum water flow 10.5 gal / minute). - Nozzle pointed directly at the Seal (87 PSI, 10.5 gal/m max water flow) for 5 seconds. - Manual vehicle wash with high-pressure spray-gun 435 PSI, for 5 minutes at a distance of 1.5 feet (3.4 gal/m max water flow). - Nozzle pointed directly at the Seal (435 PSI, 3.4 gal/m max water flow) Water Management System Maintenance In order to maintain the functionality of the water management system it is necessary to keep it free of dirt and debris. I have a factory moon roof on a Toyota and it has drains that run along the perimeter of the moon roof. Water has never leaked in to the car. However, these drain lines can get clogged which would cause leaks that appear in the foot wells of the front seat (the water basically starts dripping down the outside of the lines along the inner walls of the car and collect in the wells). If there is water dripping from the ceiling though, I think that's a bad moon roof. You could check on those drain lines though. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just to be clear, water is not leaking into the interior of your vehicle, correct? The water you noticed is contained within the water management system as described above? However it should be noted that this may cause mold to grow there as in my case under Fl humid temps. So cleaning this often may be a consideration if you suffer from allergies.
