meyersnole Posted September 23, 2013 at 10:27 PM Report Share Posted September 23, 2013 at 10:27 PM Not really anything to report yet, other then I updated my iPhone on Sunday and today the phone seemed to sync to the car just fine. I have not tried out too much yet, but will report my experience as I gain it. (Just in case anyone is waiting to see if someone has successfully done it before taking the jump). Anyone else update their phone and have any experience to share? mmmhmmmm
Eric4539 Posted September 23, 2013 at 10:56 PM Report Share Posted September 23, 2013 at 10:56 PM I have updated ti iOS7. The one thing that stopped working for me is the text messaging. I received a text while I was driving and MFT did not inform me of the text or read it to me.
Energized Posted September 24, 2013 at 01:48 AM Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 01:48 AM I upgraded last week. The phone automatically paired without my involvement. Bluetooth audio plays iTunes Radio. The texting works the same, inbound texts are announced, read and saved in MFT. Apple's MAP still doesn't allow outgoing messages via MFT. I was hoping Apple would have come into compliance with the MAP standard with iOS7.
Towmod Posted September 24, 2013 at 06:00 AM Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 06:00 AM I have updated ti iOS7. The one thing that stopped working for me is the text messaging. I received a text while I was driving and MFT did not inform me of the text or read it to me. You need to set your iPhone for the Bluetooth connection to Sync to "show notifications". Its reset to off when you upgrade. mmmhmmmm

meyersnole Posted September 25, 2013 at 01:29 AM Author Report Share Posted September 25, 2013 at 01:29 AM I had a few things reset, especially how long until the screen goes to lock and how long before you need to put your password in... but the messaging seems to still function. One thing I think that has changed is streaming from the iPhone, when I am on the home panel it knows what I am streaming. If I go to the Entertainment screen it seems to not know anymore. I have also lost the ability to control the device from the screen -- but I can still control it from my steering wheel. I am one level back on MFT, have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow... I think I will let them deal with it along with a few other things. So far much less painful then I thought!
Ekpsych Posted September 25, 2013 at 09:44 AM Report Share Posted September 25, 2013 at 09:44 AM I upgraded my ipad mini and now unable to access MY FORD MOBILE. After I select the website the ipad gets as far as the ford logo and then goes blank. I have tried uninstalling the application, turning off the ipad, turning back on and then reinstall the app and get the same result. Any other ipad users having the same issue? Any other ipad users having the same issue?Yes, it works on the phone with iOS7 but not the iPad with iOS7 In general, I've found that iOS7 is very laggy with unexplained slowdowns that weren't present on iOS6. It doesn't seem to affect MFT though. Edited September 26, 2013 at 12:15 PM by Energized Dag and mmmhmmmm
Dag Posted September 29, 2013 at 01:30 AM Report Share Posted September 29, 2013 at 01:30 AM I take delivery next week, my current truck has sync, and I've always thought that text messaging wouldn't work with the iphone. Are you saying you can get text alerts with the energi and an Iphone5?

jeff_h Posted February 19, 2014 at 12:44 AM Report Share Posted February 19, 2014 at 12:44 AM (edited) I have an iPhone 5 and it works just fine. Last weekend on our road trip, just after discovering that the 110V interior accessory outlet was having issues (started separate topic on that), my next move was to take the USB from daughter's friend's iPhone (was an iPhone 5 as the connector on the iPhone 4 looks like the one for my iPod nano, but this connector to the phone was smaller) and try and plug that into one of the USB ports to try and get a charge. As soon as I did that, I got an alert on the MFT screen that said 'insert a valid A4 card' or something to that effect, and the navigation stopped working. I double-checked to see if I had inadvertently clicked the A4 card out while plugging in the USB cord, but nope it was still in there just fine. So I then clicked the A4 card out and back in since the ' insert a valid A4 card' message was still on the MFT screen, and that did not work. So then I turned the car off, and back on, but that only resulted in message of 'navigation not available' or something like that -- so the last 200 miles of the trip were without navigation and the map that I normally keep displayed on the screen. So once I got home I already had expected that some fuse had blown somewhere, and an hour after getting home went back out to the car and turned it on -- and navigation came up just fine, "like it never even happened"... I don't know if my shutdown and restart of the car at the rest stop should have included a 30 second wait instead of waiting 1-2 seconds like I did. But today's drive with navigation and Sirius traffic coming in was just fine. Is there anyone that has had an issue like this when plugging an iPhone into the USB? shaggy314 Posted February 19, 2014 at 07:29 PM Report Share Posted February 19, 2014 at 07:29 PM iPhone 5s (7.0.4), playing podcasts via USB, other port has a 64 GB flash drive with music, AND just to muck things up, phone is also connected via BT for emergency phone use. Working fine. I had navigation WAY wig out on me when I first did the last MFT upgrade. It took about a week of reboots, black screens, and generally not working at all... suddenly clear up on its own after a trip to the dealer where they said (but didn't do I swear) a wipe and reinstall was the only fix. Didn't have an issue after the threat.

Hi jeff_h, It's good to hear everything is working now. It's hard to tell what caused this. Keep an eye out for any strange behavior from the system. I don't think any troubleshooting is necessary at this point, but keep the master reset in mind if it begins acting up again: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch Kim

Hopefully I don't need a master reset, have not had to do that since Sync 3.5.1 in the FFH and since then did the delayed reboot twice (also on 3.5.1), this is the first 'wig out' as Shaggy notes since Sync 3.6.2 has been installed. So hopefully this was just a fluke but will be paying attention on Saturday with each step so if it wigs out again I will have more details.
