SD Diver Posted September 18, 2013 at 12:01 AM Report Share Posted September 18, 2013 at 12:01 AM Greetings. Just took delivery of my 2013 Titanium on 9/11. Noticed yesterday that the trunk will not stay open if parked on my slight-incline driveway. Anyone else notice this?? Thanks!
jeff_h Posted September 18, 2013 at 12:26 AM Report Share Posted September 18, 2013 at 12:26 AM Do you have a spoiler on the back that is weighing it down? If so, you may need to have the TSB performed to give it some more oomph in the spring. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/1248-collection-of-tsbs-related-to-energi/?p=7079
markb Posted September 18, 2013 at 11:47 AM Report Share Posted September 18, 2013 at 11:47 AM Since we're on the topic of the trunk lid are we the only people who find it a bit hazardous that it doesn't open further up? I realize the reason is the slope of the rear window but it is awfully easy to bump your head on it.
apm Posted September 18, 2013 at 12:39 PM Report Share Posted September 18, 2013 at 12:39 PM I had this issue and I had to in touch with Ford through Facebook because the dealer where I usually take my car for service, refuse to do the TSB. They said that it was normal, and all the cars with the spolier were acting the same way. Long story short, I went to another dealer at the request of Ford and they fixed right away by performing the TSB. I hope that by now dealers are used to seeing the issue and will do the work without hassle. Regards,APM jeff_h
ChuckJ Posted September 18, 2013 at 02:10 PM Report Share Posted September 18, 2013 at 02:10 PM Ford had new interns design the trunk. ;) Hopefully they will get a clew and fix all the issues other than the weak gas shocks with an update. markb Posted September 20, 2013 at 11:19 PM Report Share Posted September 20, 2013 at 11:19 PM The trunk lid is also an issue. It doesn't open enough so it's easy to bump your head on it.

Having it looked at next week...
Fat Fusion Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:28 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:28 PM Speaking of the trunk.. Is there a button you can press from the driver's seat to pop the trunk open? I haven't seen one. It's pretty inconvenient to pull the fob out of my pocket to double tap the button there.

Eric4539 Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:46 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:46 PM To the left of the steering wheel there is a square button for the trunk release. Also on the trunk lid, just to the right of the rear view camera, there is a soft touch button to open the trunk. With all the features of the Energi you don't think Ford would make you use the fob to open the trunk, do you? Hahahaha....
Fat Fusion Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:51 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:51 PM Haha thanks guys. I guess the steering wheel was blocking my view of it. Dag
Dag Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:52 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2013 at 03:52 PM I didn't find it the first time either, but I figured it had to be there. It took me even longer to find the steering wheel tilt release.

timf Posted October 15, 2013 at 01:21 PM Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 at 01:21 PM Great demonstration! The trunk really isn't as small as it looks at first glance. Dag, Taylorjd and Andre07
SD Diver Posted October 15, 2013 at 08:58 PM Author Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 at 08:58 PM Hey - I still like the photo that someone posted that showed the trunk could carry 4 cases of wine! ChuckJ Posted October 16, 2013 at 11:52 PM Report Share Posted October 16, 2013 at 11:52 PM Perhaps Ford should find 3 airplane bags that fit well, put a classy Ford Energi logo on them and give them as part of the purchase (and offer them for sale).
