Neil Posted September 16, 2013 at 03:45 PM Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 at 03:45 PM I have a 2013 Energi, and love to use the Global Opening and Closing feature. It saves time getting out of the car not having to sit there and close all the windows and sun roof. Anyway, just recently the front passenger window has stopped going up using the Global Closing feature from the key fob. It'll go up with no problem from the driver side control switch. Given how incredibly 'customizable' these cars are I'm hesitant to say it's broken until I research the issue. Does anyone know if you can configure the Global Closing feature, excluding one window from it? (I learned about the 'Go Time' feature by mistake after my wife drove the car and just started pushing bottoms trying to get the AC on. Scarry!) This is an ongoing problem and is probably a result of the 12 volt battery getting too low. It's easily fixed. Push the window down button and continue holding the button for 5 seconds after the glass stops moving.Push the window up button and continue holding the button for 5 seconds after the glass stops moving.Push the window down button and continue holding the button for 5 seconds after the glass stops moving. That should be enough to fix it. meyersnole
homa2001 Posted November 28, 2013 at 11:27 PM Report Share Posted November 28, 2013 at 11:27 PM (edited) Do all of the Energi's have global opening/closing. I have 2013 Energi Titanium (I thought I got all features that I was able to check off on the paper), but seems like I'm missing adaptive cruise control, global opening and maybe even remote start. As well as heated mirrors, I think. Edited November 28, 2013 at 11:28 PM by homa2001
Russael Posted November 28, 2013 at 11:34 PM Report Share Posted November 28, 2013 at 11:34 PM (edited) Hi and welcome to the boards. I know the Energi Titanium have global open/close, heated mirrors, and remote start as standard features. Adaptive cruise (as well as collision warning) was an optional feature. To use your global open/close - to open, press your unlock button and hold it for about 5 seconds, and then everything should start to open. To close, press and hold the lock button for at least 5 seconds and everything should close. If a window doesn't close but the rest do, you can recalibrate it (instructions are somewhere on the forum). Remote start is a 3 button sequence - lock, start, start. If you want to divulge your VIN, we can take a look at your window sticker to see if you have it or not. Easiest way to tell if you have it is look at your steering wheel's cruise buttons. If you have a set of arrows closer together and further apart on the rocker switch on the left, you have it, and you'll see a red strip of lights on top of the dash board above your instrument cluster. They reflect on the windshield to simulate brake lights and you'll see them when you turn the car on. homa2001 Posted November 29, 2013 at 02:51 AM Report Share Posted November 29, 2013 at 02:51 AM I found my window sticker. It lists global open/close and remote start, so I guess I'll just try again, but it does not list heated mirrors or adaptive cruise control even though there is driver assist package there at $1000 (but it only seems to include lake keep and cross traffic). I must have missed it over all the excitement of getting the car :(
Energized Posted November 29, 2013 at 05:08 AM Report Share Posted November 29, 2013 at 05:08 AM For the global closing to work properly, the one-touch-up power window feature needs to be operating properly. The issue is the front windows may lose their one-touch-up memory. When they lose their memory, the global closing for the front windows won't work. The global opening will still work. You can reinitialize the one-touch-up feature, but it will probably lose it's memory again. The fix is to get a software update. The software update reprogams a module that controls the one-touch-up feature so it doesn't lose its memory. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3545/tsb13-10-04.htm jeff_h
homa2001 Posted November 29, 2013 at 11:39 PM Report Share Posted November 29, 2013 at 11:39 PM Ok, turns out my global open/close works. Remote start, no so much. I'm going to re read the manual.
Russael Posted November 30, 2013 at 02:38 AM Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 at 02:38 AM There is an option to disable remote start from the car. If you're reading the manual, it's on page 94/95 to see how to enable and disable that system. Also, your remote is a 2-way remote. If you have a successful remote start, you'll see a single green blink between your lock and unlock buttons. If it fails, it'll blink red. Fantastic feature for starting your car when you can't see it. :)
