Dealer installed Sync update available

I just installed an update to sync with a USB stick and now the website is saying we have another dealer installed update available.

These are free right?

It appears to be a mistake on the web site.  At least one person reported going to their dealer and being told there was nothing to install since the update had already been installed.

Gen2 V3.6.2 is the most current version.  If you look on the lower right column under "Your SYNC" you will see the version that's installed on your vehicle.

"Full SYNC History"  will list the history of updates and the date V3.6.2 was installed.   It will also indicate "Your installation has been confirmed"

If you don't see 3.6.2 confirmed, you can run a Vehicle Health Report which will update the site.    The "your vehicle has an update" message doesn't seem to change however.

I was trying to fix my parents car--I guess the dealer did the update but did not report it to ford a couple days before she bought it.  I had to download the version checker, run it on the car, and then take the USB back to the computer and Ford finally said the latest version was installed.

Does anyone know when Applink will work with MyFord Touch?  I think its pretty crazy that it works on the lower tier cars but not on our titanium.

I was just looking around on the Sync website when it said I was overdue for an update. I sent an email to Ford asking why I hadn't been notified since I registered for everything many months ago They referred me to a link where it shows I am already registered to get Sync updates so that's a little disconcerting that I am not being advised of updates. Also, if my car is in the dealer's service dept, shouldn't they just go ahead and install the updates?

Energized, can you tell us exactly what steps to take to get to the area that tells us which Sync version we have? Is it under "Settings" on the main display?

I am a little confused and frustrated because I went through the complicated Sync update thing with a thumb drive, but when it was over the file that was supposed to be added to the thumb drive wasn't there. So I called Ford and they told me to run a Vehicle Health Report . This is a complicated process too. In fact I gave up after trying, even though I successfully ran one once before.

As always, any direction is appreciated. Thanks.

If you log into your account on support.ford.com, the MFT version on file for your vehicle is displayed on the lower right side of the page.

Your SYNC

SYNC with MyFord Touch Gen2 - V3.6.2

If you upgraded and don't see V3.6.2 on the website then you need to update the database.  The easiest way to do this is via a Vehicle Health Report.

The fastest/easiest way to conduct a VHR is:   Press SYNC button and say "Vehicle Health Report."    No other action is required.

Sync takes care of the rest and will update the database with the MFT version you are using.

You can also run a VHR via the Settings (gears icon) then <Vehicle> then <Vehicle Health Report>.

Thank you so much, Energized. Your instructions were definitely the easiest ones I found. I just now got around to running the VHR and like you said, the Sync was updated while the VHR was running. (It had NOT updated before with my previous try.)

The only thing is I could find no actual report. I'm not that worried about it but the email I got from Ford took me to a link that only told me how to run a VHR - not how to see the one I just ran. While I was sitting in the car waiting for it to do the VHR, I got a phone call. I didn't answer as it had no Caller ID and I figured it was a solicitor. Should I answer the phone while running one of these VHRs?

I did press the "Run VHR" button on the display and think I may have messed something up because it said "No changes since previous VHR." So it ran it but I just can't find it, although I did check that support link and it does show the most recent update.

Thanks again. Your help is very much appreciated.
