Anyway to turn off touchscreen?

Just wondering if there is a way to turn off the touchscreen display.  On a 30 minute trip you could probably get another 1/2 mile out of the battery with it off, lol.

Also is there a way to see exactly how many gallons of fuel are left in the tank?

Cannot assist you with either question sorry as I have not purchased an Energi...yet...but very close.

If I may add to your iquiree if I may.

Has anyone tried replacing some of the Bulbs with LEDs?  I understand that the Head lights must remain as they are but the running lights and inter Lights and Fog Lights could be replaced to save even more Battery to give a few more Miles.

Really wish Ford Engineers had decided on using more LED Lights since they do use at minimum 85% less power than Conventional Vehicle Bulbs

It is actually illegal in the US for a manufacturer to sell a car using LED headlights thanks to the wonderful US government.  I'm sure they would have used them if they could.

There is a car in Europe that came out with LED headlights but they can't sell it here in the US because the US has outdated requirements.

I believe the taillights and ambient lights (by your feet and in the door pockets) use LEDs.  I think the interior lights are on for such a short time it was not worth the cost of the LED.

The Lincoln MKZ has standard LED headlights.

"Standard LED taillamps and class-exclusive* full LED headlamps beautifully blend elements of style and function."

The amount of energy draw from the accessories and lights are fairly small in comparison to what the motor uses.  Even the A/C is very efficient.  The heater is what supposedly draws a lot of power.

Thanks for the Link.

Too bad Governing Body over on this side of the world are not revolutionary enough to realize that thewy too must change with the times  in order to make Automibiles and Trucks safer.

As I had stated, even if we do not look at chaging the Headlights to LEDs there should be no reason why the Running Lights, Parking and back up Lights can not be using LEDs. same as interor Lights, License Plate Lights, Hood and Truck  and Fog Lights.

These LED lights have the same Lumen Ratings as the OEMs and use 85% less Power. and hopefully all future Electric Vehicles can be fitted with them to save valuable Power since the 12 Volt Batteries are leaving a little to be desired on the Energi.

If less power is drained from the 12 v Battery fro lighting then less House Power or HVB Power would be needed to charge it.

Hmm wonder if they would ever consider using a Heat Pump instead of the standard Compressor???????

Come on Ford....... another "Better Idea" to consider
