dlb92 Posted August 5, 2013 at 11:55 PM Report Share Posted August 5, 2013 at 11:55 PM Ok so I just went to a dealer in Florida. The car was beautiful but the battery was dead, they had never showed it to a potential customer before, it was listed on their website for $38 ($46 invoice) and he wanted $42,400 walk out price and I have an X-Plan. He was their top sales person but he knew nothing about the energi. Who knows the best dealers so I can get the best price? I'm willing to drive out of state. I have an X-plan as well. All I want is the titanium with a moonroof and garage door opener I don't care about all the other stuff I will never use it.

I said the same thing about the Adaptive Cruise so didn't get it on my car, but we did get it on wife's car and I wish I'd got it for mine -- so you may want to test drive with that feature before deciding against it. As for the dealer, sounds like you were at the wrong one... hope you find a better one.

I'm trying to keep it around $38k (walk out) Do you think that is even possible?

I'm trying to keep it around $38k (walk out) Do you think that is even possible? Ours was around $42k but we got it decked out with just about everything offered, as opposed to my SE Hybrid which was much more modestly-equipped. Depends on what you really want in a car, $38k out the door may be possible but would be a 'stripped' Titanium Energi (which seems like a bit of a contradiction). The dealer where I bought my SE Hybrid has 2 of these right now, marked down to $39k and $36k, of course that is without the tax/tags/processing... http://www.sheehy.com/MD-VA/For-Sale/New/?MakeId=12&ModelId=352&Trim=Titanium+Energi&DealerId=28780 The one where we bought her Energi also has prices in that range - http://www.appleford.com/searchnew.aspx?make=Ford&tags=none&model=Fusion+Energi You said out-of-state was OK but I'm a few states up... there are probably a few dealers there around you that have similar pricing. dlb92 Posted August 6, 2013 at 02:06 AM Author Report Share Posted August 6, 2013 at 02:06 AM Yeah the least I could find was one in tampa with a moonroof and navigation system for right under $40k with all taxes/fees. Someone recommended me to http://www.kearnypearsonford.com/searchnew.aspx?year=2013&make=ford&model=fusion+energi&trim=Titanium&pt=1 to chat with them and they said they could get me one for $38k walk out after all discounts and rebates. I'm still waiting on an email to see all these rebates. I'm trying to keep it around $38k (walk out) Do you think that is even possible?Right now I think you will want to find a 2013 to lease. They are running at 0% interest (best on 2014 is 5%), a good residual value and you get $3750 more off. My silver Titanium MSRP was $44,700 and I got it for $33,900 with the incentives and $500 coupon and they paid the first payment. They also gave me top dollar on my 2011 Fusion Hybrid. I leased it for 3 years with $375/mo and 20% down. They have several more, but I'm not sure of the years or options. PM me if you want the sales manager's name and number. cabdan Posted September 24, 2013 at 01:48 AM Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 01:48 AM Thinking about pulling the trigger before all the rebates go away at the end of September. In So Cal the lowest I've seen MSRP $44,800 & price out the door $40,895 Deal or No deal?
Russael Posted September 24, 2013 at 02:13 AM Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 02:13 AM (edited) Right now, if you're looking at the 2013 model year, Ford is running 4500 dollars of its own rebates (at least in Michigan), which you can combine with other discounts such as X, A, or Z plans. On top of that, the State of California has its own EV rebates, AND you can claim the Federal Tax credit of 4007 dollars. You CAN get monster savings on this car right now if you're willing to jump in (I only received a 1500 rebate on top of A-Plan, but I've had the car since May when they were coming fresh off the line). Since it's the year end clearance, it's more likely inventory will go away before the deals do. However, if you're looking more closely to the 2014 model year, well, since that's new, the incentives won't be as nice, but you'll get the choice of some other options such as inflatable seat belts, different interior color, available heated steering wheel, etc. Edited September 24, 2013 at 02:17 AM by Russael

TX NRG Posted September 24, 2013 at 06:25 AM Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 06:25 AM Thinking about pulling the trigger before all the rebates go away at the end of September. In So Cal the lowest I've seen MSRP $44,800 & price out the door $40,895 Deal or No deal?No deal! There is about a 4 month supply of 2013 Energis out there so you should be able to get a better deal near or below invoice price before the $4,500-$5,500 in incentives are applied. For an Energi Titanium at that MSRP, the invoice price would be closer to $41k so after incentives you would be in the range of $35,500-$36,500 before TTL. Doing a quick dealer search on ford.com for 2013 FF Energi Ti's, the first one I checked (Galpin, ZIP 91343) has 26 of them to pick from! Here is an example of a recent purchase by bjorn up in SF. Good Luck! 2013 White Platinum Fusion Energi Titanium MSRP $43,280 (Options: Moonroof & Navigation)James Ford September Internet Sale $40,000Minus $4,500 Ford rebate $ 4,500Minus $1,000 Competitive Ownership Ford rebate $ 1,000---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Total Sale Price $34,500.00---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dlb92 Posted September 24, 2013 at 02:23 PM Author Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 02:23 PM (edited) 40,895 out the door is a good price. You are forgetting $3,500 in taxes and fees. 40,895 - $3500 = $37,395 I don't know about these $4,000 to $5,000 incentives. Do you have a link to them? Last time I checked it was $2,500 incentive plus a $750 coupon--now it looks like there is another $1,000 rebate. Most give a dealer discount as well. I paid $40550 after taxes and fees with a similar MSRP and that deal was a steal no dealer would even come close to matching that. Don't wanna break your bubble but most of these dealer "internet sales" include the incentives. The only way you are going to get a rock bottom price is if the dealer is desperate. Russael Posted September 24, 2013 at 02:41 PM Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 02:41 PM Ford incentives are here: http://www.ford.com/cars/fusion/2013/incentives/ Punch in your zip and it'll tell you what you can get. Not sure if he plans to lease or buy. Some dealerships have their own sales which is how I think bjorn got his. If that dealership was offering up their OWN 4k off on it with the additional factory rebates, that's insane. Go buy it if that's the case. You won't find it less expensive anywhere else. cabdan Posted September 24, 2013 at 04:51 PM Report Share Posted September 24, 2013 at 04:51 PM Thanks for all the great info! The dealer is discounting $3,940 off MSRP before rebates! I've found 4 rebates that end 9/30 #12376,(1,500)#12380 (1,000) #34480(1,000) and #12390(2,000) so after all rebates $36,678. However I don't trust the dealership! I have always felt that if you are uncomfortable with the dealer, find another one. If they treat you poorly trying to make a sale, what do you think is going to happen if you have an issue? There are plenty of good dealerships out there.
bjorn Posted September 26, 2013 at 03:34 PM Report Share Posted September 26, 2013 at 03:34 PM I agree, pick a dealership you trust. All dealers will be able to give you the same Ford incentives. Also, if you find one you like, let them know what discounts you're being offered elsewhere. They'll probably match or come close.
ChuckJ Posted September 28, 2013 at 07:28 PM Report Share Posted September 28, 2013 at 07:28 PM (edited) I put out a 1 page RFP by email and got a lot of responses. I told them the required / desired options and asked for the total cost (including trade-in) and monthly payment. If the dealer met a trade-in threshold for my current car I took it to them for a complete appraisal. I got 5 responses. I thought the first offer I get in was good, but the final offer was $5,000 better (including the 3 year lease cost).
