larryh Posted September 6, 2013 at 10:23 PM Report Share Posted September 6, 2013 at 10:23 PM (edited) You could always try riding the brakes while you are on the freeway. Maybe that would generate lots of regen miles. Actually, to get the best mileage, you want to avoid braking whenever possible. Generating a lot of regen miles is counterproductive unless you really need to stop. A lot of regen miles could be a sign of poor driving technique. This does not seem to be the best goal to strive for. Edited September 6, 2013 at 10:30 PM by larryh
shaggy314 Posted September 9, 2013 at 07:17 PM Report Share Posted September 9, 2013 at 07:17 PM (edited) It's bunk IMHO. It says I've only gone 35 miles since my last fill up. Huh? I've got 3855 miles on the car and put 13 gallons TOTAL into the car plus the 14 that the dealer initialy put in. I still have about 3/8 of tank #2 to go... I'm about 90ish MPGe. Hell, I went 40 miles yesterday (two charge ups) and it still reads 35 miles. I've still got more accidental tank openings (4) than on purpose ones (2). And another thing, how is Texas not it's own region? We're freaking huge. ;-) Edited September 9, 2013 at 07:20 PM by shaggy314

I agree, I think there's some more kinks to be worked out... our Energi is currently #307 in 'Most miles traveled without adding more gasoline in region 8 (DC, DE, FL, GA, MD, NC, SC, VA, WV) . .' with "27 Miles" however we have a pretty good tank going and it's been 900 miles since adding any gasoline and still almost ½ tank left... unless I'm misunderstanding the criteria? murphy Posted September 9, 2013 at 09:49 PM Report Share Posted September 9, 2013 at 09:49 PM It's limited to the preceeding 30 days,Mine says 24 miles and I haven't put in any gasoline since May.
jeff_h Posted September 10, 2013 at 12:04 AM Report Share Posted September 10, 2013 at 12:04 AM It's limited to the preceding 30 days, Has still been 900 miles in the past 20 days but only saying 27.... oh well maybe it will be calculated from last week onward... Russael Posted September 10, 2013 at 10:48 AM Report Share Posted September 10, 2013 at 10:48 AM I'm thinking it's calculated the next time you put gas in the tank. I don't think it is cumulative. Mine still says 11 miles and hasn't moved, but all my other stats do automatically adjust per trip.

I put 120 miles since yesterday's fill (13 gallons) and my number went down.
Russael Posted September 17, 2013 at 01:02 AM Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 at 01:02 AM I wonder if it's counting a charge as a 'fillup'? I noticed mine always reports 11 miles... and my round trip to work is 10.6. I charge every night... maybe I'll go for a ride tomorrow night and cruise until the battery is almost dead, and then charge and see if it changes. jeff_h Posted September 17, 2013 at 01:34 AM Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 at 01:34 AM Well like I noted above, I think there are still some kinks to be worked out... I just used wife's car to run errand across town, round trip just over 11 miles... have not experienced (don't recall anyway) a dupe posting, but according to the site I took 6 trips instead of one. Strange.
Russael Posted September 17, 2013 at 02:39 AM Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 at 02:39 AM Ahhh... it looks like that bug has returned. That was one of the first things I noticed once we were able to see our trip data. They fixed it, but it looks like it resurfaced. I have no idea if the Ford engineer is still on here or not, but I can fling this to him tomorrow (was corresponding with him while at the office). Either that, or you can open a support ticket with Sync and that goes to the engineers too.

Odd quoting myself, but I can now confirm that the 'Gas Sipper' stat is counting a recharge as a fillup. My statistic has increased to 20 miles as of yesterday (the distance it took to roll to the Plug-In Day Event), and I charged there. So it isn't counting JUST gas... it's counting electric recharges too. Poo.

My statistic has increased to 20 miles as of yesterday (the distance it took to roll to the Plug-In Day Event), and I charged there. So it isn't counting JUST gas... it's counting electric recharges too. Poo.I'm not even sure that is true. I make a 250 mile round trip every Tuesday, and I don't plug in anytime during that trip, amd my fuel sipper tells me the farthest I go on a fillup is 122 miles. It's almost acting like e stat is for the farthest I've driven in one session without turning the car off. Very strange....
Russael Posted September 29, 2013 at 02:52 PM Report Share Posted September 29, 2013 at 02:52 PM Maybe that's it... the furthest you've driven in one session without turning the car off, etc. If that is indeed what it is measuring, then it's more like a 'iron man driver' stat to see who can drive the longest. I think they need to revisit that statistic. :)
shaggy314 Posted September 30, 2013 at 07:04 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2013 at 07:04 PM Mine got worse too, I'm down for the last two weeks to only 23 miles since the last fill up... (it doesn't update day to day, but remains steady). Nearing 4800 miles and going to get my second tank this week. You'd think I was gassing up every day. I've gone 50+ miles without a charge, so I know that isn't it either. Super BS as it says miles between gas fuelings I laugh each time I read, "don't worry We'll keep track for you." It's been 2 MONTHS and 2400 miles since I've opened my fuel door. What in heaven's name are they using? There are other cars with several hundred miles, so some people have it working. My ONLY guess is that I've not filled up since the web site changed, so maybe it'll straighten out once I get gas.
cuznvin Posted October 9, 2013 at 02:09 PM Report Share Posted October 9, 2013 at 02:09 PM any ideas as to why sometimes my battery charges to 26 miles and other times its 25...one time it charged to 27 miles.. what affects the level of charge?
Russael Posted October 9, 2013 at 02:11 PM Report Share Posted October 9, 2013 at 02:11 PM That's not the level of charge changing that... it's your last several trips. That range is an estimate based on your driving habits, not the battery's charge level. If you drove it like a stolen Mustang, you could probably get it to drop to like 13. :) If you drive it exceedingly conservative, you could probably increase those numbers.
