howardbc Posted July 22, 2013 at 11:41 PM Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 at 11:41 PM Hi. The first thing people ask me is "How far can you go on a full battery charge?" I know this all depends on many factors, but I was wondering if the MyFord Mobile app shows me this on my PC. I thought I saw it one day but now can't find it. When I go out, I make several stops (3-6) before I come back home. I always deplete the EV battery. I know that the display in the car shows the number of EV miles, the number of regen miles, etc. after each stop. I could keep a notebook in the car and write down these figures, but does the MyFord Mobile app do that for me somewhere? If so, can someone tell me where to find it? I can see from My Lifetime Summary (in the car; wished it was on the app too) that I am using EV/regen power for the vast majority of the miles I've driven, but I'd like to keep track of how many EV/regen miles I get each day and then calculate an average. I know it's got to be much better than the 21 EV miles mentioned in the advertising, because my car's icon always has 25-28 miles showing on the battery icon when I start out, and then I can drive 8-10 miles and the battery icon shows more miles than when I pulled out of the garage! 'Hope some brainiac can show me an easy way to note my EV/regen miles each day. Thanks.

I know this all depends on many factors, but I was wondering if the MyFord Mobile app shows me this on my PC. I thought I saw it one day but now can't find it. Click "My Driving" then "Trip & Charge Log". Click the arrow on the trip you want to see. It shows Trip Miles, EV Miles, kWh used, Fuel Economy, Brake Score, Driving Score, and miles from Regen (under brake score). howardbc
howardbc Posted July 23, 2013 at 01:22 AM Author Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 01:22 AM Murphy, that is so helpful! Thanks a million! I printed out your instructions and will save them until it comes as 2nd nature. The "Trip & Charge Log" is actually missing the first trip this morning, but I didn't click on "View All." Or will it only show a maximum of 6 trips? I'll go back and sign into MyFord again and see what happens when I click on "View All." Then I need to get out my calculator and figure actual miles where it shows less than 100%. Thanks again.

Depauwler Posted July 23, 2013 at 02:16 AM Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 02:16 AM (edited) I'm told that it does not record trips of less than 2 miles. As an on/off cycle. Can you not use the Trip 1 & Trip 2 displays to do what you want? Oh, but you don't want cumulative, you want to know for each trip? My plan is to use the Trip 1 week-to-week, Trip 2 for fill-up to fill-up, and then leave the lifetime summary alone (reset it when I took possession of the car). Then I just take a picture on my phone before I reset the trips. (Or will; only my second week doing the trips, and still have about 2/5ths of the dealer gas.) Edit: Re-read OP. You want to know per-day then? Unless you make sure you never make trips less than 2 miles, you'll have to do it by hand. I'd suggest using the Trip display to do your daily miles. apm Posted July 23, 2013 at 01:52 PM Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 01:52 PM I believe that they have made a change to the MyFord Mobile website to allow for trip less than 2 miles. I think that they have lowered the threshold. I make a lot of trips of less than 2 miles, before only about half of them would show up but lately I have been seeing about 90% of the trips. Out of the 30 trips/charges in the log 10 are less than 2 miles. Regards,APM

I think that they have lowered the threshold. I don't know the exact number of the current threshold, but looked at the trip log and saw one from yesterday for 1.5 miles. But then again who knows... I just checked MFM web site and says the car is still sitting home in the garage, as it did this morning when I thought my wife had overslept (nope, car is at her office). I wonder if others currently not getting updates from today. Edited July 23, 2013 at 05:27 PM by jeff_h

I wonder if others currently not getting updates from today. I noticed an issue this morning. When I first went to the web site the car was showing as if it was at the last place where I parked last night. Also it showed like if it wasn't plugged in, but the car was in fact fully charged. The site must had a problem but it seems like they have already fixed it. Thanks,Alex
murphy Posted July 23, 2013 at 09:25 PM Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 09:25 PM When you go to the web site you get the last status reported by the car. It could be hours or days ago if the car hasn't been used. They initiate an update but it can take a minute or two to contact the car and get the data. If the car is in an AT&T dead spot there will be no update.
howardbc Posted July 23, 2013 at 10:21 PM Author Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 10:21 PM Wow, I am blown away by the EV miles showing for the last 5 trips I've made. Not counting regen miles, I am showing that between 60-75% of my miles are driven in EV mode! I guess I already knew that when looking at the Lifetime Summary, but it was amazing to actually break down each trip. The efficiency is better on shorter trips of course, but it's still very gratifying to see the figures broken down. All this is without ever stopping to charge at a charging station. And with temps over 110 often. 'Can't wait to see what it does when the temps go down. Right now the a/c is taking 25-50% of the energy. I'm using "EV Auto" but I guess it wouldn't make any difference if I changed to "EV Now." The last 5 trips I made were between 31.1 miles and 74.3 miles. That's about usual for me. I think I may still keep a notebook in the car and write down EV and regen miles for a while to see if they match what MyFord Mobile shows. Has anyone else done this? Thanks. Agreed - but this was a routine that we go through almost every day, where I check the status once she gets to the office so I can see how much HVB was used and kid her about using too much until she tells me she'd like to see my EV go farther... anyway, since it's a normal routine (office is in a city area with very good coverage) when the system didn't report that the car had moved it was either oversleeping or MFM being finicky - and I guess it was the latter. I checked later in the afternoon and it was fine then. Edited July 23, 2013 at 10:23 PM by jeff_h
howardbc Posted July 23, 2013 at 10:36 PM Author Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 10:36 PM The MyFord Mobile app is not updating on my PC. I plugged it in as usual last night and it's fully charged but the app didn't send me the usual email and text to tell me that my car was charged. Hopefully they're working on some of the bugs. Depauwler Posted July 23, 2013 at 11:16 PM Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 at 11:16 PM Yes, I might have remembered that wrong, but I often make trips of less than a mile and they don't show up. Maybe I'll go the long way and see if 1mi shows up. ;) jeff_h

It looked like MFM was running about 12 hours behind on status (both location and charge) of the car. Every time I tried to update, the update failed. jeff_h
