FFET is Dead

New owner of used 2014 FFET...

Have had a couple small problems during first two weeks of ownership... and then the big one dropped.

The car was dead in the driveway... figured it was 12V battery, swapped it out and car started fine once.

Then was towed to the dealership...

they ran the BMS and thought all was fine. then next morning they couldnt get it to start either.

been in the shop for over a week now, and there is absolutely no power to the car.

The dealership cannot even access the computer to check for codes.

Apparently there are 40 modules in the vehicle and all have to be checked 'old-school' without any power, one at a time...

And the dealership has no loaner vehicles available because there are soooo many parts on backorder from known problems with particular Ford models.

Anyone else out there that has ran into this sorta situation with their FFE? And care to share how it turned out?

The dealership cannot give any ideas for where this will get to as far as parts, labour or cost.

  • 2 weeks later...

update...

got the car back this past wednesday... then took it for a 9 hour round trip weekend...

it completely stalled out doing 75 MPH on the way up for the weekend. sat on the shoulder for about 5 minutes and then it restarted and finished the weekend trip without any problems.  when first re-started, it had the engine light, wrench, and red triangle lights on.  then when re-started after a night, just check engine light was on.  then the second night i charged the battery and in the morning there were no bad lights on the dash.  drove it the whole weekend without AC or anything plugged into the outlets in the car.  today on ride back home we ran the AC and then also plugged in one iPhone.  all good so far. we shall see how it does tomorrow after plugging in more stuff slowly.
