Done with Michelin LRR tires, installed new Pirelli P7 All Season Plus 3 (17" wheels)

Living in Oakland CA means poorly maintained streets, tons of potholes, debris and broken pavement. I suffered with the OEM Michelin Energy Saver A/S on my previous car (Volt) and they're way too fragile for this city. The smallest nail or piece of glass would puncture the paper-thin sidewalls. Plus they have terrible traction just about everywhere. So when I purchased my '19 Fusion Energi and noticed it came with the same Michelins, I knew they had to go. It was a shame since there was approx 15-20k miles left on the Michelins.

I went with a set of Pirelli P7 All Season Plus 3 (link) which are all-season but tend to favor dryer climates. They were about $750 installed locally.

Instantly the car felt much better in every way, it even added a bit of much-needed liveliness to the handling. No more squeals when accelerating or cornering, quieter and more comfortable on the freeway.

There will be a hit to EV range and MPG, but I don't expect it to be significant. A fair trade if the new tires will prevent me from another roadside flat repair.

Related: I ordered a mini-spare from a 2013 Escape along with a spare tire jack/lug wrench. Although it takes up precious room in the trunk, it could mean my next flat will only take 30 minutes instead of a multi-hour ordeal with a tow truck. And I tend to get a lot of flats ?
