testriderchuck Posted December 26, 2022 at 03:17 PM Report Share Posted December 26, 2022 at 03:17 PM My '14 energi popped this code a few days ago. WRENCH +CEL. Wouldn't do regen, used the ice instead. Cycled ignition seemed to go away. cleared codes, haven't come back. Is got 264K miles. No issues except those minor ones listed elsewhere, this forum. Temps were low, near 0. I'd been on hiway for an hour. Ideas? Is it me to retire or, use it as backup ride and get an EV?
cjv Posted January 19, 2023 at 04:47 AM Report Share Posted January 19, 2023 at 04:47 AM same here... been getting the wrench light for some time now, sometimes with CEL, other times not. does not persist after stop/start ignition. 115Kmi, '13 cmax energi. does not use regen, instead the ICE redlines in order to do engine braking while in L ... I prefer driving in L for the psuedo one-pedal driving. in D, it does not redline but there is still no regen. temps around 35F, 20min at highway speed. dealership cannot reproduce and won't take action until it is persistent, despite my capturing it with OBD tool. good luck, hope you find an answer. if you do, let me know! I'm in the same boat, considering going EV and using this as a backup... :-(
rp128 Posted January 22, 2023 at 03:35 PM Report Share Posted January 22, 2023 at 03:35 PM (edited) same here... was raining and the two wrenches and CEL came on. CEL persists after restart but wrenches do not. code is p0b24 Have had problems since I got vehicle with lights coming on. Code is usually one that says batteries are unbalanced. Ford corporate advised the dealer I should use a 220V charger, not 115V. Not sure if this latest occurrence is related.
