  1. I can charge my 2017 platinum to full charge.. when I drive vehicle I use ev later mode I drive for about 50 mile then when I get home I see my vehicle needs to be charged back up to get back to full charge I was told when it is charged I can use the stored charge for later in ev now mode. is the charged battery being used no mater what mode the car is in.
  2. I have a 2017 energi platinum and I have read a lot of posts on ev later mode saying , "With the EV Later button, you can conserve all of the battery power that you have for later use." this cannot be correct I use ev later mode a lot and it drains the ev battery. even though the engine does come on and does some recharging after driving about 40 miles I am having to recharge the ev battery back up. as stated I thought ev later mode conserves all battery power for later use. just wondering why this is not true. I guess I am not understanding this mode. thanks.
  3. I took delivery of my 2017 Fusion Energi Hybrid about three weeks ago, and I still haven't been able to get it to run in "EV Later" mode. The owner's manual and all the online advice I've seen indicate that it should be possible to switch to this mode easily by pressing the EV button on the console. Every time I do so, however, the instrument panel shows that the car is in Auto mode, and that EV Now and EV Later modes are unavailable (as indicated by their icons being "x'd" out). Why do I want to operate the vehicle in "EV Later" mode? Because my dear wife is concerned (irrationally, I'm convinced) about EMFs being generated when the vehicle is using the HVB, so to allay her concerns, I'd like to drive the vehicle using only the gasoline engine when she is a passenger. Is anyone else experiencing this problem of being unable to use the EV Later mode?
